if i want to upgrade my troops, which should i upgrade?
1.farmer > recruiter or
2.bowmen > crossbowmen

I say BOTH.
recruit=increases amount of troops.
x-bowmen=with amied shot and a total of 1000 when 75 is recruited.
+ u can recruit millions of em.
Max recruit at lvl 8=50-67 on faction lvl. |

they cannot be compared in such way
xbowmen are massive range damage
guardians are protective support for melee (stun) and long range (shield allies)
both of them are important in higher lv but they provide good support in different manner
after all, you dont need to consider guardians at your lv |

For level 6 I would recommend recruits. Xbow requires level 8 unless you are using diamonds. But if you are using diamonds, I would recommend gold upgrade for recruits and diamonds for xbow now. |

| I don't think you get more griffins because training chambers trains citizens and I doubt griffins count. |

No, this works only if you upgrade farmers to recruits.
