whats better: 14 attak no mana
13 attak 10 mana(1 raise dead)
12 attak 20 mana(2 raise dead)

I think you shouldn't use Raise Dead too much because once you do so, your troops' morale goes down. Maybe only keep 1 point in Knowledge and if you are about to die, then you can use the spell once, but usually it's best not to (unless you're a Necromancer).
excuse me but UNDEAD type of creatures don't have morale

so no question of MORALE going down

for Darkclaws: Raise Dead is the best strategy for necro so i think i think u shud go with 20 mana :D

i had 20 Mana at level 8 and i found it helpfull in ambushes to use raise dead at the end of the fight. If you place 2 stacks of 8 elven bows in the corners of the battlefield, the caravan hero prefers to use lightning on them. So all you got to do is keep raising one of these bowman stacks to keep your EFK lightning free.
But thats just how i did it.
For other battles you might not need mana, depends on situation.

aye.. they indeed don't have morale.. still, Darkclaws is using elves.. perhaps he meant if having raise dead for elves is worth it..

@ topic: i think, having 20 mana, not just for raise dead, but for other spells is not bad.. makes you more flexible IMO..

im an elf and i would say 12 attack and 20 mana because raise dead will help in some situations but be carefull because if u raise dead with elf ur team will freeze in fear and 20 mana for bless and rapid

same opinion here. Use bless if your retal-taking efk is slower than the big stack, use bless on unicorns for 5 more min damage, use bless/haste on efk/bowmen, haste on sprites, wasp swarm on enemies... there are a lot of game deciding things you can do with those spells, my favourite is still wasp swarm
raising archer to keep your efk lightning free is pretty much like hitting yourself. Sure, your efk won't get lightning but is that really worth getting a huge morale decrease? What good does a full stack of efk if it misses half its turns due to morale?
so stick with 10 mana :)
