Exactly how it says.. For each person you invite, when they'll reach level 2, you'll receive 500 gold and then for each other level you receive 30% from the money he gains at level up.

In answer to your question:
As someone who joins the game on your referral id levels up you get 30% of the gold they gain for reaching each new level (they still get full amount too). The exception is when they reach level 2 you gain 500g.
