Unbelievable story--but true

AuthorUnbelievable story--but true
So I purchased an ugly house a few weeks ago. The listing agent had told me it had a squatter problem and that they'd lived in the property without any utilities for months. I took a look around, the place was filthy, but the "bones" of the place were solid.

I thought nothing more of it.

I put a crew to work on the place and to fix it up. While doign so they came across the house's City trash cans (in the Los Angeles area, the local Cities each have their own 'trash cans' that must be used). They noticed the blue one (meant for recyclable materials) was filled with several glass jars with cardboard on top because when moved it you could hear the glass clanking.

So they took the trash can out front to the street for the trash crew coming by that day to pick up.

A routine event then went bad...as the mobile trash compactor scooped up the trash, it decided to "Crush" everything to make space for the rest of the street's trash/recyclable goods (seperate containers/trucks). Big mistake. It turns out those glass containers were full of feces and urine...

So immediately tons of the gunk spilled over the street in front of my property, and the truck continued driving along picking up the blue trash cans with its mechanical arm--business as usual. Except that on this run...it was leaking this horrific smelling liquid throughout the entire street.

Needless to embellish...several neighbors have amassed outside the worksite protesting the action. Now the entire neighborhood smells like a rotten sewer.
Quite unbelievable until you can imagine how far a human being can go low when he is out of ressources. And also how far a company can go low when it is all about money. :)
hahah

HILARIOUS LIMUS!!!!!!

That is one of the most funny stories ive ever heard: listen to this.

Well, my dad does an annual golfing trip with his brothers and last year they went to vegas. Well they were driving a man was holding up a Cardboard sign that said "Father kidnapped by ninjas, need $ for karate practice" and people were stopping by to give him money, someone gave hima 100$ bill.

wow that was you o.O
last post was to Chance
rofl that was hilarious, ninjas, lol. But anyway, I have so many random stories like the one above...blows my mind. Live a busy life and 'wacky stuff' happens. Maybe I should start a journal here and discuss the things that are worth remembering--if even for a short time.

Take this for instance. I told a client of mine that he could get a property for 275k if he does 3k worth of work to make it a financeable purchase last night. Either that, or the seller will do the work and sell it to him for 285k. You would think...that he'd jump at the first option. He's arguing with me that he doesn't want to save money and wants to go with the original 285k terms with the 3k worth of repairs included. His wife is arguing that the savings plan is smart, but this guy is 'head' of the family...what he says, goes, right or wrong. Some people are beyond hope.
yep, his wife is beyond hope letting a guy like that be head of her family lol

There are many explanations for that other than the guy was just dumb.

1.) You could have made the deal sound too good to be true. Many times the mere 3k repairs can turn into well beyond 30k.
2.) It could be like insurance; safety of mind. The seller is giving him a guarantee that the work would be done.
3.) Maybe the guy just isn't skilled at construction and can't do that 3k worth of work or he can't find the people to do it (or too lazy).
4.) The higher purchase price enables him to borrow more money from the bank.
The 3k in repairs is just a termite clearance...professional companies stand behind the estimates...so it doesn't matter who pays the 3k, a termite completion will be issued on the said property.

Now that you mention the borrowing part...indeed, he wants to borrow 10k more to cover 3k worth of repair...but it is actually 10k + a maximum 30 years of interest lol. Not to mention he gets to pay taxes on a 10k higher purchase price too (minor, but still). Granted he gets to write off the interest in his taxes thus saving a bit of what he pays...but I rather not pay the interest at all if it can be avoided ^^

As for the wife, it really is a tight spot for her. The last time we met, she was crying because of how her husband refuses to listen to me. This is common, people will hire people and pay them to do a job they know they cannot do...but then try to tell them how to do it lol. This happens to me at least 6 times a year. End result: I fire my client. If not for my empathy for this poor woman, I'd have dropped them on the spot without thinking twice. But jeeze...a woman crying out of desperation...big time achilles heel for me.
