Author | what does taking cold blade as a talent do? |
it says 10% additional water damage but wt is water damage? or fire damage, earth damage? | those are element based dmg.
in general, your troops will do physical dmg which can be resist by def stats.
element based dmg can be resist by magic shield, magic proof and other magic resist modification from talent and enchancement | so is it better than basic offence? | not quite because basic offence only for melee unit..do note that cold blade also for ranger unit as well | i wanna know y is water term involved? | i wanna know y is water term involved?
Therefore cold blade deals water elemental damage in order to damage you have already done.
wt is water damage? or fire damage, earth damage?
Water damage, fire damage, earth damage are all 'magical' damage, unlike physical damage. Therefore, these attacks are NOT affected by def, a stat which all units have. Therefore, they might be more useful than physical damage.
HOWEVER, there are some troops that resist elemental damage MORE than physical damage, an example is golems. Golems have a 50% magic shield, meaning that, your extra damage dealt from cold blade deals 1/2 damage against golems. In this case, basic offense is better.
See this for some other stuff that deals water, fire or earth damage: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=31
so is it better than basic offence?
As said before it depends on the situation. If you're fighting golems or modern golems, it is definitely worse. Also, some heroes have might have an artifact equipped that decreases magical damage, note that, and these artifacts WILL affect cold blade's extra damage.
Please also take note that barbarians also have magic proof as a faction skill, this decreases the damage from cold blade. Basic offense MIGHT be better, since some barbarians might have some points in defence and low FSP, in which case, cold blade MIGHT be better. | tnx alot. my doubts are cleared.... i will leave this topic open for other ppl to ask their q's... |
