The buyer can take part in auctions, increasing bids gradually or setting his or her highest bid right away. In the latter case, the program will effectuate gradual bids instead of the Buyer, even if he or she goes offline, but won't bid higher than the preset maximal bid.

You set the auto-bid by declaring the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item.
