I humbly thank the empire for the most generous gift, and I intend no offence, but I will return it.
We have seen people willing to turn on the empress. Breaking a sworn oath. I think their may be people amongst us who would say they support Councilor Feurlis and the Empress to get a boon from our most wise and beautiful ruler, just to fade in to the night if and when they are needed.
This is also no slight on others who have also decided to side with the empress and accepted the gift. I have a fair degree of wealth and can easily equip myself for battle. For those other valiant defenders who truly do support the empress, it may be that the boon will assist them in any ensuing battle, and that is a good thing. |
For the record, i, as do many other lords, side with neither sides of this conflict.
But that does not mean my swords will be blunt, or my mana well empty. I believe there is a far more sinister foe behind this plot waiting for forces on both sides to weaken.
That i see is the true threat and i shall be prepared when said enemy rears its ugly head :D |

I had vague suspisions before, but it is now my opinion that the Empress is under the influence of Dark Magics, not some "illness"; likely a legacy of the War against the Venomancers. But I believe that she is still fighting against the vile powers arrayed against her. Notice the subtle inconsistencies present in Councilor Feurlis' pronouncement.
Seeing your indignation at putting Lord Arctic into custody, Her Majesty hath entitled me to come out and announce this epistle to you. Should the unrest not be stopped, I have received the directive to fight back everyone willing to assault, and one who thinks himself fit good enough to challenge me and defeat me in a fair skirmish may attempt to set Lord Arctic free. But bear in mind that only the fittest of you shall be able to accept my challenge, which is the Lords who have reached the 12 to 14 Combat Level and beyond.
It would seem that everyone is assuming that trying to free Arctic requires involvement with the Rebellion. Her Majesty's directive simply mentions that the opportunity to free Arctic is only present whilst the rebellion lasts. Her "Epistle" does not state that trying to free Arctic makes one a traitor against the Crown, nor considered a rebel, as one would expect of such a pronouncement.
In fact it should be noted again, as stated by Councillor Feurlis, that the opportunity to free Arctic *is* a Directive of the Empress. It seems to be implied that Her Majesty practically *expects* us to free her favorite Herald. Circumstantial evidence that supports this supposition is the fact that Councillor Feurlis leads a force far smaller than his usual 7000 Skeletal Dragons.
It almost seems that Her Majesty would rather not have had her favoured Herald incarcerated. In fact, She may be sending us a message, while She still has the strength, that Arctic's freedom is vital to her own future. Perhaps Arctic somehow holds the key to freeing the Empress from her own dark imprisonment.
I believe that Her Majesty still fights the Dark Powers that have come to make her a prisoner in her own body. And I would see her restored to her accustomed glorious magnificence.

As I told to every valiant defender of the Empress, we are not against her. We are serving the glorious Empire. We do not seek personal power, we are trying to restore justice and peace in our lands.
Our so called "rebellion" is not against you, brave Lords, is against the evil that has taken posses of our beloved Empress.
Look at Her face... something evil, that was not present before, is inside Her Majesty.
We need to face this threat all together. But first, we need to set Arctic free! Maybe he has discovered too much about it, and who is behind all this thing has decided to remove him...

I have come to my senses..I regret my decision to turn against the Empress *foolish of me*I am for now holdinh my alliance with the Empire. And the so called Rebels please don't think I have back-stabbed you..I STILL want to free Arctic but I think our approach is wrong..I think something sinister is behind this evil...and I daren't say what it is.

Jedi, then let us fight. When I saw Grunge here I thought he would be one of my comrades in arms against you. But my great friend and lifelong pal, Grunge, they got to you as well. It is a sad day when allies fight amongst themselves.

I am ready to challenge you to let me pass you and set Arctic free. I sincerely hope you understand that this is nothing personally against you or the well-being of the empire.
There is something wicked going on here. I do not understand every angle of it yet, but I DO know that Arctic has to be set free, the sooner the better.
