when i go to enchant an artifact theres a box that says " brand " what does that do?

Brand allows you to pay 5000 gold to have your name associated with the enchantment.
A "Made by XXXX" label on the enchantment will be present.
It's only effect is an advertising effect. No in-game bonus.

It basically puts the enchanters name on the art and it links to the player's profile. People mainly use it for advertising purposes or some sort of special deal with smiths.
