Author | Wizard's the weakest faction now? |
Hi all,
I'm probably a total newbie in front to all of you; I'm just lvl 8 and not sure when and if will ever reach higher lvl, but would like to point out somenthing that is pushing me to change my favourite faction, mage of course.
For my point of view mage are not weak or strong but totaly unbalanced between different game mode, for example:
- spell power is totally different between PvP and hunt
- mana recovery is a great talent but useless in turnament; meaning I have to reset my talents wheel every turnament untill someone will not fix it.
and so on ...
More over I don't catch why spell power of creatures is not related to hero sp as per attack.
I think a more balanced calculation of spell power will mostly improve this faction.

This is made on purpose, so you don't have neverending battles. Its equal for everyone so its still fair.
I would wish they will make a similar adjustment for the "ranged unit block" that also takes forever |

From what everyone has said I think we have got the crux of the issue. To summarise as I see it
All factions have levels where they compete less favourably than before. For wizards, level 13 seems to be it.
While wizards are balanced in what they can be, this is only if you overhaul the stats of your lord for the different circumstance. Ie full magic wiz is balanced in some circumstances, while a hybrid or support is in others.
The problem with this being it is both frustrating to do and expensive. This results in most wizards being more static in their setup, which has less tolerance to differetn roles than other factions and gives the appearance of a lack of balancing.
IMO wizards especially, but also others would benefit from an easier system of retooling for different roles. Otherwise you are forced into a role of, well I am only going to thieve and MG as my setuip sucks for teh others so I cannot compete. |

You are wasting your time playing as wiz lvl 13.
With MG 4 wizard can win nearly anything...I suggest you change to wiz at lvl 14.

I personally think level 13 wizard and level 14 wizard are two different factions =P |

In fact problem that chaos wizards are very weak against barbs is not problem for lvl 13 only, but also for level 12, level 11... |

Barbs are made to fight magic. Just like an xbow setup is against DE at lvl8,9 , a poison necro is against a might necro or wizard. |
