Very cool. I especially like the reference on #5.
and I'll just have to post that I couldn't help but turn Lotw into Lords of the Wing in my head. Will be contributing to this as often as I can.
Yikes, I almost forgot. Winner gets 70% of the total prize pot, while the runners-up will get 30%. Sorry for the omission of this info. :P
Angel:

Earl Sarltooth had never been a religious man. Rarely did he call upon the Twin Gods except to blaspheme their name. With this thought he kicked the doors open to the ancient monastery. Its pious walls were adorned with sacred mosaics and masterfully crafted works. He would make sure to plunder all he saw. A clergyman ran forward to stop him and the Earl kicked him hard in the stomach then dragged the man to the altar. Laying him atop it he drove his sword deep into his heart. As the man’s blood spilled over the altar, the Earl noticed the stained-glass windows become dark as if midnight had suddenly fallen. He marched outside into the midday sun, looking around, perplexed. It was then that the form glided down beside him. The being stood twice the Earl’s height with strong features and powerful, eagle’s wings flowing behind. A crest of golden leaves adorned his head - and this enraptured the Earl most of all, so much so, that he ignored the massive sword in the being’s hands. “By the Twin Gods!” the Earl began. When the sword began to descend upon him he realized his devotion had come too late.

Angel - Story of Madelyn (The Abridged Version)

Madelyn was a Seraph, an exalted Archangel. She patrolled the lands, righting wrongs, answering queries about the Ways of Good and denying the power of speech to those that abused it, till they learnt their lesson.

One day, she chanced upon a handsome Lord, whose beauty rivaled even the cutest cherub, in the wilderness near the northern mountain range. Her angelic heart fluttered with love for him and she descended to the ground to meet him in the guise of an elf maiden. She and the young Lord Summers talked for hours as they lay on the grass, of fools and kings, of Good and Evil, and Madelyn fell completely in love with him.

Then, under the shadow of serene snow-capped peaks, Lord Summers looked Madelyn in the eye and what he said then broke her heart. Lord Summers was a married man and despite all that happened between Madelyn and him, his honour required him to return to his spouse.

Madelyn watched as he walked away before falling on her knees and crying. Some say she still cries for her First Love and that the waterfall at Seraph’s Tears is her still mourning her unrequited love to a mortal.
A few centuries ago, there was time when the beating of white wings in the sky sent shockwaves of fear throughout the land…

Angels were not always so noble and just. Angels are the spirits of fallen heroes reincarnated. They used to terrorize the land dealing “retribution” against anyone who they believed had wronged them in their past life, and anybody else who stood in their way. Standing as tall as a giant, stronger and faster than any mortal, angels were unstoppable warriors of vengeance that wrecked havoc on the world.

This ended when the old Order of the Templar, the predecessor to the modern knights, discovered a way of combining Darkness and Holy magic to bind wild angels into their service. From then on, angels were the elite of their armies, and grew renowned as defenders of the faith.

And over the ages, the angels’ bloody past, and their true nature, was obscured and forgotten…
How angels originated -

The biggest truth is that God is with us and for us, and an angel is sent here as a part of that. God's message can be a warning, or be a comfort in times of danger and fear. There's more going on than the careless eye can see, so God's messenger points it out. Since God is way too much for us to take, the messenger is sent in God's stead, like a diplomatic envoy. What happens then is between humans and the Lord. God chose this way (among other ways) to keep in touch with humans and not be a far-off Deist god.

Angels are then after traditionally believed to be supernatural beings who act as mediators between man and god. It is thought that angels have authority over the natural world, being organized into classes or hierarchies.

Roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God's tasks therefore to carry out these things angles have splendid brain , over powering wings and a sword with a hidden power in it .. Angels are "pure contingent spirits."
Angels - The Origin

In ancient times when knights were young and the other factions were still old, great battles were waged all across the lands. As a young faction knights were lacking in all ways, but with persistence and training they learned to hone their skills against their enemies. The lack of weaknesses made knights formidable foes, but given a lack of great strength there was no one to lead the charge against their powerful enemies.

The Twin Gods saw this problem and decided to send some foot soldiers from Heaven to help train and lead the young faction.

<Or so how the story goes. But the truth was that the powers of darkness were taking over. With the defection of the Dark Elves, the holy powers were on the verge of losing. Thus immortal Angels were sent to restore balance in the world and not to find favor with knights.>
Created by implanting the torn off wings of Gilgot Gobblepot, an ex-knight turned Angel, whose wings regenerate over time. The original Angel, Gilgot, was transformed into an Angel as a stray boulder from a nearby Cyclops smashed into him. Supposedly, a magical hat appeared from the boulder and landed on his head. The hat made Gilgot guess a number between one and six million, promising power if he guessed correctly and torment otherwise. Gilgot guessed “pork” and turned into the first Angel, disintegrating the hat. The Angels emanate power from hat shaped birth marks on their chests. For each Angel created, somewhere in the world a hat disappears.

Angels - Origins

In a time when necromancy was still a fledgeling art and the dread Demons were still a distant threat, war raged through the land of Enroth*. From the tip of the northern mountain ranges to the edge of the continent, the five races vied for supremacy.

The Elves were the first to tame the dragons whose bones the necromancers would eventually use for their foul arts. The darker Sylvan brethren soon followed suit. The Wizards toiled in their academy until they were eventually able to produce the mighty Colossi, while the wild Barbarians called forth herds of Behemoths from their homeland.

As the fighting escalated, the Knights found themselves more and more at a disadvantage. They were forced to retreat to their strongholds while the other factions continued their war of conquest.

During all this, the ever present Twin Gods continued to gaze upon all the folly. And when They sensed the Demons set their eyes on Enroth, and the first fully fledged Necromancers emerge, They commanded Their Angels to set forth, to protect Their children.

Set forth the Angels did, but instead of going directly to face the invaders, they went to the Great Capital of Enroth; the final haven for the remaining Knights. They would not only help to fight off the invaders, they would also restore balance to the land of their Master.

*A tribute to the original Might & Magic series :)

@Spat, naapa92 & xWounded:

Aww, come on you guys. While Spat's entry is funny, xWounded's one is less so, naapa's one is pretty confusing, they are just not suitable to become lore of the game and may be more fitting in another less serious contest.

So, unfortunately, please accept my apologies as your entries will not be making the cut for the final voting later. They will be deleted once the contest ends in 6 days. Thanks. :)
