1) When my character attacks, sometimes he uses his crossbow and sometimes his sword, is there a way I can control this and make him use only crossbow? (I have a hunch that it's got to do with escort and when an escorted stack is alive, he uses the X-bow)

1. You are right. When you escort a creature, the Hero uses the crossbow. When he attacks normally, he uses his sword.
2. Blindfold battles are battles that when you join, you have to wait a while and then an "Everyone for Oneself" will start, where you cannot see the names of the other players. Not quite sure, but usually players of the same and +-1 to +-2 levels can participate with each other. |
I believe all your character attacks are with sword. While escort attacks are with his crossbow (note that in old battles escort attacks may show up as sword attacks).
Blindfold battles are like what it sounds like. Players join in and the computer randomly matches the players together to form battles. I believe the the computer restricts the selection to +/- 2 combat levels. If there are not enough players, then after 5 minutes you have the option of leaving. |

I believe the blindfold battles are +/- 1 level, not +/- 2 combat levels.
As in the maximum difference between participants is 1 level |
