A. Buy an art, use all dura, sell to shop, buy again.
B. Buy an art, use all dura, send that art to repair for 60% at 40% cost(do that a few times), sell to shop, buy again.

So the main question is does the price per combat go down after the repair?

I haven't done the exact math, but for shop artifacts, I think option B would save you a little money.

If someone offers to repair 60% at 60% cost, go with option A instead.
Selling high arts are useless.Repair can be done for high priced arts and enchanted arts.
My guess would be option B.
It seems if you can get a discount of 10% or more on the repair by a blacksmith then it becomes worth repairing this way UNLESS you factor in the time and hassle of this against the instant gratification and action of buying new items every time.

Also the 'smith may with enough of your business offer discounts which increase and therefore you become dependant on that character you've invested in... just hope he stays around long enough to do the work for you.
I must quantify the 10% or more discount.

If the repair efficiency is at least 10% more (say) than the percentage he asks for the service. I exploited this in the past but it wasn't a huge sum of money saved and the waiting was a downer.
After every repair...the zero durability item also loses value each time. Keep that in mind when formulating.

Simply for the convenience aspect I treat all non-enchanted shop arts with route A. It is fast, and you know exactly how much it is costing you.

Some shop arts are better than others for repairing. There is no simple answer of yes/no to your question. As you can see from the above posts there are several factors including non-financial ones.

But here's a rough guide I like to use:
Low smith: free
Med smith: 20% off from repair%
High smith: 15% off from repair%

Look at table on Part 03 - this is a example of calculations of repair item in smith with different prices and skill. (this is old prices for SOM, but idea is still same).
It would take a lot of work to figure out the math for every item...maybe someone does it someday--ie like a calculator.
