So it says that in case of some spells, the effectiveness varies with the caster's magic talent..and there are several categories, no talent, expert talent, and so on, can I get a clarification?

you ll see different formulas for different talents.
For example the first spell, magic punch:

No talent: damage = 20+4*Spell power
basic nature magic: damage = 20+4*Spell power
advanced nature magic: damage = 30+6*Spell power
expert nature magic: damage = 35+7*Spell power

So the better your talent is, the more damage you do.
(magic punch is nature magic, so it is based on basic/adv/exp nature magic.
Lightning for example is chaos magic, so you need basic/adv/exp chaos magic)

It shows all the different magic spells and the effect of talents on the spells.
so if you want your bless and rapid to be more effective get basic and advanced holy magic talents

if you want curse and delay to be more powerful get basic darkness magic
Ok. Each spell has 4 levels: No Talent, Basic, Advanced and Expert Talent.

There is, beside each spell, the list of how the 4 above levels affect the spell

For example:
Delay without Talent is -20% Initiative effect
Delay with Basic Darkness Talent is -25% Initiative effect
Delay with Advanced Darkness Talent is -30% Initiative effect
Delay with Expert Darkness Talent is -40% Initiative effect

Delay's duration is based on your Spell Power, but the effect is based on your Talent.

Is there something else you're not getting?
I am not getting, how the darkness, holy, chaos and nature magic comes together with the air, earth, water and fire magic resistancies, +damage with fire magic, etc...

Then, you can check for each spell with its description for damaging spells (destruction ones, some nature ones, and poison):
Magic arrow Mana cost 4 (Level 1)
Deals Air elemental damage to an enemy target.


The other spells aren't elemental. Holy will never be affected in any way; ie if you rapid for +40%, no matter what you cast it on, it will always augment ini by 40%.
For dark spells, they aren't affected in any way by any kind of elemental resistance, out of poison, since it is earth related damage. However, they are affected by magic proof effects, by decreasing the duration for all spells, but poison - in this case, it is the damage per turn that is decreased, not the duration.

Lastly, there are a few exceptions, concerning only a certain spell, such as golems, immuned to delay, or e.garg, immuned to the lightning spell, but not to air dmg.

it isnt decrease on duration but the effect. example: unit with magic proof wont get full -40% on expert delay.
