Yesterday after I finished a MG quest in GC, I travelled to ST and went away to do some personal things. When I came back, I found I was ambushed by Sion, and the battle is over. So I clicked MG rewards and logged off. Today I found that I was imposed 5000 gold penalty "for Bad sportsmanship, AFK in TG".
So I have several questions:
1) I think this penalty is unfair, how do I make an appeal?
2) Is there any previous case for one getting 5000 gold penalty because one was caught by thief and was afk?
3) Is there any game rule clearly says that thief victims get penalty if afk?
4) Has this penalty anything related to the close relationship between Sion and the keeper? |
some years ago i get 5k penalty cuz "afk in ambush" when i have connection problems
my belief- ambush is a rape you do not get choice if you want battle/sex then fine for afk/unconscious is like the policeman rape you also |

2.) I think so, but I'm unsure of the application. I've encountered several hundred afk (and semi-afk) thieves and victims in my own combats.

4. Questions regarding penalties, unblock requests, and other kinds of communication with Administration are made with the help of Secretary (https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=4). If your combat level is below the 3rd and you can't use the private mail - either raise your level or ask your friends or clanmates. Contacting the Administration via "Queries & Help" is SENSELESS.

I don't know if there is a rule that says u have to sit in front of your pc while travelling (thats the main point).
Some may say 'thief uses time and arts for ambush so thief should get exp and fsp', on the other hand i wouldnt call u a bad sportsman. In my eyes thats not true!
Another question: I ask myself if you will get blocked if it happens again in case of loosing conection or something like that?
Don't know about 4) but if such penalties happen again and again, lvl15players may loose interest in the game and quit? Don't know if keepers want to close the server... |
| From what I've read, this has become a big problem. I believe the best way is to remove consideration in banning or fines due to AFK in thieving or just any penalty that has to do with thieving in general. Getting caught by a thief is unpredictable and therefore a player should not be held accountable for leaving the game after moving a destination. I know I don't want to waste my time staring at the screen as two minutes is seeming slowly counted down. I believe this is also true for setting up ambushes since you don't really know when you will be thrown into a battle. |

This is getting to be a huge problem now. From what I've seen, it seems to be due to a lack of clear and consistent provision of rules (and penalties) regarding AFK in battles.
I thought all along the general rule was that the compensation is the free TG that the thief secures. I guess something changed along the way.
I wonder what the definition of 'bad sportsmanship' is evolving into now. |
May be you should ask keepers (and of course the one giving such penalties), to define those words : "Bad sportmanship" then you will know how to avoid such penalty in the future but i understand and this is the best way...
So ask, then post the final definition!

| AFK, though very annoying, or even infuriating, was never considered bad sportsmanship, especially if your being AFK does not cause any teammate to lose their battle. If you're going to be fined for clearly not being there when you're ambushed, then every form of AFK should be fined as well. If they're going down this road, they'd better be consistent. |

Questions concerning closed affairs, requests and other attempts to contact the Administration are made with the help of Secretary. Violation of this rule is penalized by at least 24 hour ban.
