| Nope, for level 1 and 2 spells, you do not need any of the corresponding magic talents. So without basic darkness talent, you would be able to cast delay, curse, disruption ray and poison. This is assuming you have built magic guild 1 and magic guild 2. |

just selecting a talent wont give you any spell.
talent just enhance spell effect either give more damage or reduce more stats.
for level 3 spell onwards when you reach lvl 10, you need talent to use them even you build magic guild lvl 3 |

Look, for wizard the best on level 5 is Basic chaos.
For dark elven, depends about your stats, assuming you are a magic DE, Elemental Call.
