Every faction may have a disadvantage!
Like elf vs barb barb wins with simple tactics,
elf can only win with good ap and high tactics,
demons are worst at lvl 3 or 4,
wiz and DE get easily defeated at lvl 5 if they are without magic, etc |

I think that's because playing an elf requires simpler tactics (shoot, shoot, shoot), whereas demons require more thinking (should I gate this turn, where should I gate, where should I move, etc.). It doesn't mean demons are weaker. In fact, if you're the kind of person who are good at strategy, playing a demon can be very rewarding. On the other hand, if you're brain-lazy (that's me nowadays), then elf might be a better choice.
I started out as demon, and I don't remember having difficulty against elf opponents at low levels. |
