There is one thing else. AP is what makes the economy move. If there was no AP regulations for Players at CL 5 and up then most players would never spend any gold. They would just save and never spend. So in the long run AP makes you spend your gold to continue playing the game. |

Without this facilities would have no money. You can't enroll at facilities with no money. If you don't enroll your LG will be lower than it could be, and your defense stat could be less than it otherwise would be.
So AP in battle injects money into the economy and, indirectly, defense points into battles.
