Authorhow do the neutrals decide what to kill!
I saw some hunts, they pick to attack 1 shrews rather than 15 lizards although they're still strng

maybe:

1. lizards are out of reach
2. attacking stack is small in number

u got diamond upgrade so instead of clerics u would hv monk n guards. In that case AI might opt for guards. It may be the AI policy at lvl 13.
I agree with the last comments, it is frequently about whether they can kill a unit outright and therefore ignore retal. I often try and get a unit to ignore some buffed beserkers with a single unit. When doing this it only seems to work if they cannot outright kill the beserkers. So the choice seems to come down to if we cannot kill them, hit single stack, if we can kill them, hit big stack. Since the AI has access to all the formulae it could be related to damage they would deal compared to damage they would receive from retal, coupled with something to ensure that the most useful damage is done.

Niranmate, I've never noticed for giants, but titans are bugged for a while. I use to block them with a single gremly, and they always always kill the gremlin. I guess that's the same thing that happened in that ambush.

Against wiz caravan, just try to block titan with a single griffin - I can bet the clever titans will go head on for your griff. They like sacrificial offerings I assume.
