Post the advantages and disadvantages of merge in this thread so everyone will get an idea of what they are going to face. This helps many people perpare for the beat and worst as well

Here i go !
Language will be a major problem, google chrome is the only browser that helps you translate.
So installing it to your pc will be a better idea so as to avoid future worries

P.S :- I know there is a thread already existing, But people are chit chatting there

no one knows anything, so all we can do is chit chat & speculate.
Advantages:
Steppe Barb, barb with magic, dark demons, bigger map, new guilds, new shop arts, raider set, more players (-> more ambushes, pvps, easy to get a random player to help in hunt), more events, attention by admins, more shop arts!

Disadvantage- Increase in competition in STs which may make it difficult to win and earn easy gold...
Il give an example ! Why is there a sudden drop in the rate of thief invitation ?
I bet many won't know the answer !

The answer is, .ru players put in more RL money to buy diamonds in comparison with the .com player
so the rate of TGI in .ru is around 500 - 600k
We can't even guess what advantages or disadvantages we might encounter as we have no idea how the admins plan to do the merge.

However, in the spirit of this thread I will make up the following advantages.:

1) we will all get 1,000,000 gold per combat level.
2) we can all choose 1 existing .ru account and have all fsp, artifacts, gold and resources added to our .com account. If two people choose the same donor we will get 2x, three people 3x, etc..
3) twice per battle all .com players will be able to restore all hp, mana and ranged ammo.
4) if we are too busy to enroll the system will recognise this and auto enroll for us at 4 times the wage.
5) roulette will always land on number 8 for the first 4 days.

Disadvantages? There are none of course.

Well, advantages will come soon, but as I oppose the merge, I would like to list the disadvantages:

1. Lordswm is sure to be neglected. This is precisely why I like to call this a transfer of .com accounts to .ru than a merge. We will basically be inducted into the .ru server without any autonomy of our own. Our presence in the game will surely be neglected. And I don't think that even after the merge admins will try to advertise the .com side of the game. Which means the english speaking players will keep decreasing whereas the russian counterpart shall increase.

2. We are english speaking players, we don't know russian (with some exceptions ofc). And so are the russians not expected to know english. Now, when we have any kind of PvP after merge, 90% chances are that they will all be russians. Now, the problem I wish to highlight is most visible in GBs. Well, if all my team mates are russian, how am I supposed to communicate with them? Some might suggest to use the matrix form, like 5:10, etc. But that is not conversation. The best part about GBs is the team work, and that will be almost dropped out due to the lack of communication among .com and .ru players.

3. In any kind of discussion affecting .ru and .com players separately, .ru people will have a greater voice.

4. Our economy will be highly severed. Many people are out there who have spent all their savings buying arts to lease, but once we merge, their efforts will all be in vain. This problem could be averted if the merge would confirmed at least 3 months ago before it actually occurs.

5. The usual problem - bad fsp ratio between us and them. I don't how this problem will be solved. As far as I can think, there are just 3 ways in which admins could solve this problem-

a) Give all .com players some free fsp to match them with .ru players. But I don't think that the .ru players will find it amusing as they have worked hard to get those fsp but we have got it for free. This idea will not work.
b) Admins might give fsp based on the combats played. Now this is tricky. The could give fsp on the basis of what? If they consider only PvPs for this, what about those who have been playing only hunts just because there are no events on this server?
c) They could come up with a merge event which would give a super high fsp to exp ratio. Well, this is the most ridiculous idea. There could be players who have been dedicated playing this game for a long time, but suppose they just couldn't play during the merge event...so should they be left out from getting the fsp benefit only cause of this?

There are a lot more, and I shall post them as soon as I find time. To be continued...

I have exactly the same information as all the other posters in this thread.

I can't understand how they have managed to convert the facts we have been given about the merge into such fanciful ideas??

That I paid 80 diamonds for TGI and get just half of it back.
My main concern was that the fsp differenve between both the servers will be too great to handle and another problem was that russians dont generally speak english so the main reason why we are merging (to have more PvP action) is basically destroyed.

I like the merge for more events.
we can rent arts/enchanted arts from artifact shop (this is + and a - as it will kill renting services, but customers will instantly get arts and not have to search for a rentor and wait for them to transfer arts./ enchanted arts are great for events, it is nice that we can just rent them instead of making our own ^_^)

I don't like the merge because I will lose the ability to win multiple gold medals per Survival tourny (possibly)
Tougher competition means less free hg points for me..


you guys always mention doing GB's over there.... forget about the language barrier, you can rent 5*8% enchanted weapons from artifact shop for like 500 gold. I see this all the time over there when someone joins in a 3vs3 gb full enchanted set and the other 5 have min arts XD. (Yes I have done this also, but just with enchanted SoM :P)

Yep, except google translate sucks. It's great if you want to understand half the meaning or copy/paste out some garbled phrases to others. But if you want to read or write better than a 5 year old, then we're all better off not using google translate.

There are also lots of other disadvantages in the transfer going wrong or incomplete like not having our gold, resources, elements, arts, estates, hg/mg/tg glitches, logs wiped, and more.

Only advantage is more events.

But funny thing is that people have been talking about the merge for over a year. All this time they could have already started playing on ru already and not suffer any of the potential transfer problems.

This is not the main reason for the merge. The main reasons are technical: one game code, easier administration for the developers, and no need to split attention between to game worlds anymore. More PvP is just one of the benefits, not reasons to merge.

No, main reason is money. Operating 1 server is cheaper than operating 2. Game codes are nearly identical. While administration and attention here was barely done in the first place.

Not at all! Game codes are very much largely similar. In fact, lordswm is a reduced coded version of .ru and the only thing it needs additionally is translated text. So its all about the financial aspect. And, how come money falls under technical issues? In this way, everything falls under anything.
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary:
Technical
a : having special and usually practical knowledge especially of a mechanical or scientific subject

In this case I would say technical means computer skill related. Money would be financial not technical.

Of course it does. Any difference at all would complicate things, but I said nearly identical, not identical. Nearly identical means such things like the merge is possible, but not without complications that I've already listed. That's part of the reason why I don't see this transfer happening without some big glitches (by design or unknown).

Things look more favorable with Arctic back, but it doesn't automatically mean nothing bad would happen.

I would take DiN's advantages, reverse them, and call them disadvantages :D
