But if you always login from the same IP, the box is not shown. |

Because you will have a dynamic IP. |
My IP changes every time/day about 2 - 3 times, just as the IP of my brother does.
So you can say we both have the same IPS.
Will this be a problem on long term? Even if we make a proper notice about it at our profile page?
Think about, laptops, PC, mobile phone's, IPads etc.. |

Nope, just mention about it in your personal info. And if the IP address just keeps shuffling between 3 or 4 values, its even more fine. |
It was on .ru
After merge it has stepped to .com |
So i just came to know about Dynamic IP. Since My IP has changed again.
Always thought IP was some identity , which could be used for security purposes... How is that achieved with Dynamic IP?
Unrelated , but this is my next question :) |
for virtual_vitrea:
Most ISP's are giving you dynamics IP's because some people are using their unlimited plans and setting up their own server in their house. Because the IP is static the website will always point to the correct place. If the IP is dynamic then the ISP can make more money from you paying them to make it static...
I can't think of any cases where you would use an IP address as security other than to only let localhost or 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.XX access a certain webpage
E.g. An admin page
Whenever I retrieve an IP address on my site it is normally only to work out the rough location (country and city) and ISP information of the user.

SoS |
Thanks. |
