i think it is going to be update for the wizards alt..... u remember what sorish said. "we are trying to develop ourself from the resources gathered from past"
Maybe all other things are just buffs beating around this central point :-)

as i understand necromancers used to be wizards in the old ages. and as cyrus mentions, wizards used to do darkness magic, but for some reason they stopped.
the way i see it, the wizards who didn't stop the pursuit of darkness magic went on to become necromancers. and the rest banned darkness to become wizards as we know them today.
Now, here are some possibilities:
alt-grade for necro with chaos magic?!
alt-grade for wiz with darkness magic?!
and here's a crazy idea, wiz with an special kind of holy magic than can resurrect (not the same as necromancy and reanimation) the (un/)dead!
this theory (as crazy and unlikely as it may seem) would explain many things:
feurlis getting scared and wanting to run away ! note that as an undead lord, the only thing that could make him “scared” is the possibility of his resurrection as a mortal
Also note that considering the effort that was put into describing feurlis's past and the fact that he used to be a living necromancer, this would make even more sense!
Another thing that comes to mind is that it is very likely that there was a great war between the wizards who banned darkness (wiz) and the wizards who pursued it (necro) and the wiz developed this special magic during that war. But it was forgotten during the ages.
So I’m thinking billir might switch to the altgrade and feurlis might be capturing his closest friend billir!!!!

This is how the HoMM 5 lore goes, yes. The Necromancers were originally Wizards of the Seven Cities, but eventually split apart into their own sect, because the Wizards frowned upon Dark Magic.
Now, here are some possibilities:

I find it very unlikely that it will be a Wizard class with Darkness focus, for several reasons:
1) Lore-wise, if a Wizard wanted to go into Dark magic, they would probably just go to be a Necromancer.
2) Assuming they will continue to follow after HoMM 5, the Wizard alt-grade on there had no more affiliation with Dark magic than the regular Wizard did (as far as I know).
3) They already have the Darkness Demon, who is Darkness-focused; it would seem silly to put 2 Dark-focused classes so close together on the development timeline. |
