Shield allies:
This creature shields all adjacent allies with its huge shield. Those allies take only 75% ranged damage.

Allied creatures are those under your command. Unless participating in a special event, or casting controlling abilities, they normally belong to the faction you are currently playing.

If shield allies protect the stacks of partners in group battles, the description should say 'adjacent friendly units' instead of 'adjacent allies'.

meaning:
A state formally cooperating with another for a military or other purpose, typically by treaty.
A person or organization that cooperates with or helps another in a particular activity.

why would i call my troops as allied troops ?
if u are doing a battle in special events like mixed tourney and minor tourney etc then shield allies will protect your partner troops also
Sorry I missed barbmaster question

It will NOT protect team-mates troops in tournaments. It will ONLY protect units that you control (You can move, wait, attack or defend with).
Normally your own units, but also reinforcement in ST and units in events like New years eve monster you get on your side

This definition in "about the game" is the definition chosen, so that is the definition we use in the game.

As a Knight, this took me by surprise. I mean, really shocked since I have thought 'Shield Allies' ability to include those of team mates' troops.

I have just clarified with Arctic and I can confirm that Shield Allies ability DOES have effect on team mates' troops, as well as own units.

So to conclude, 'Shield Allies' ability works for both own and team mates' units in all battles.
Addition:

'Shield Allies' ability will also have effect on ally units that you can control, like New Year creatures and those in MG Vanguards, etc.
For post #16 -

"you can control" refers to units like New Year creatures

Obviously, we can't control the ally units in MG Vanguards. :)

But the 'Shield Allies' ability still works for both cases.
tribes rituals also have mechanics with "allies"

i see 'lessons of history' applied on teammate

do 'battle cry' effect on teammates?
Indeed, "Shield allies" will give ranged protection to friendly creatures as well.
I'm sorry for the mess, it's my fault for keeping the texts outdated until now.

"Lessons of history" may also be cast on friendly creatures.
"Battle cry" only affects allied creatures.
