| Why do people apologise for double posts? |
| People used to do it, long before you were around there was something called courtesy, people did not want to be seen as spammers. Even the heathens appreciated sarcasm and fun, and even the worst of the worst never spammed the forums. But that is something from a time long gone. Nothing of that age remains. |

No rule against double posts. It's only bannable if it's a flood of posts not related to thread.
You could post 5 times in a row on someone's thread but as long as its relevant (and reasonable, not like 1 line per post) it's fine.

I'm considering that to be about my double post in the hwm daily post made by meshy.
I said "sorry for double post there" because normally people would say one post per person in a competition. If I had counter checked what I posted there. One comment would be enough. But due to improper checking before posting I said the "sorry for the double post".
As for what igles said. Asking sorry for posting twice continuously has been there for some time although no one actually knows why to be honest. Posting 5 times in a row would be a spammers warn but then why have people been asking sorry for double post?

Making an extra post to say sorry for double post is retarded. Including this message into an otherwise meaningful post is probably better but still unnecessary imo.
Who cares about double posts anyway? It's not like the forums are flooded with unbearable number of original contributions, ideas.. and the kind. Only times it needs a proper excuse is when you have posted in a manner that appears like intentional flooding of thread (like 1 word per post or 1 line). |
