Author | How to play card game? |
The game is very interesting and fun but i very bad at it lol, can person show me how to play or maybe faq? |
There is quick bit here - https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=42
But as for getting better, from what I know it's one of those things you get better as you do more of it. (Don't worry, I'm horrible at it too). Try and face people who are around the same gambling level as you. |
you need 90% luck,10% skill.for start, play until you memorize all the cards and their cost of resources.different tables have different strategies.focus on one table until you know a bit what you are doing. |

just learn all cards. make videos of your games and then watch them again - you will learn much about your mistakes. and play a lot. you'll need ~1000 games to learn for good tactics (e.g. "mana rush") and good card combos. |
okay thank you all for big help! very awesome to see active fighter helping out |
i'll just add a different suggestion: play against the strongest. Don't just look for people having the same level as you, try to match the highest levels.
This way you'll learn what to do and what to avoid. average players make mistakes, good ones don't (and sometime they play for free). |
Play in empire capital, indeed against high gamblers guild people; I personnaly did it from time to time to get a better grasp at the game (but not too much or you'll go broke :p). EC is the least luck based game rules, thus the best place to learn.
Most important to know is what are the most powerful card effects are, and how much they cost, so that you know that if your tower can't resist a dragon card and the ennemy is getting close to 25 stacks then it's time to get some extra wall or tower level. Or that the ennemy can destroy with one card a tower that is smaller than level 12 regardless of wall level (could even be level 13 if he adds a play another turn card).
That's not enough for a good strategy but it will allow you to avoid most wrong moves and it will serve as a basis for more advanced strategies. |
you need 90% luck,10% skill
...That is just plain wrong. Skills play a far greater role than luck in your games (Ofc there may be a few unlucky ones but in the long run it is 55-60% skills and rest is your mistakes, your enemy mistakes and lastly luck. |

It is in russian but if you translate you can get the gist of it. |
marine how many games have you played so you can say i am wrong? |
have you even red the link you posted? the author says:
"In my view, in these sectors realized that the 70-80% of the success depends on the cards, 20-30% of the player's skills. In other sectors, winning percentage is even more dependent on the cards."
his experience allows him to estimate the luck factor to 80% max.My experience allows me to estimate it at 90%.Your experience of 17 total games doesnt allow you to find "just plain wrong" players with 1000*(your games) and positive balance. |
beware the concept of gold card.
find some friends who agrees to play without gold card and zero bet(hence zero cost)
play a lot, u will learn in time.
better postpone playing two towers with a stake at least 1000 games.
do not play for stakes without gold card. |
do not play for stakes without gold card.
I know I'm not in a good position to talk about card games and tips (with my crappy level) but I think it's better to play with gold card if you're trying to get your level up quickly, it's such a small cost imo and if it increases your win rate, then it's worth it. |
it's such a small cost imo and if it increases your win rate, then it's worth it.
definetely increase win rate, almost 89% (completely arbitrary number, no idea how much increase actualy)
lets do the math.
each gold card costs 50 gold.
for (many) beginners of two tower game, first goal of gamblers guild is getting tavern drink, hence 800 wins.
assuming a decent (but not pro) player, we manage to win HALF of our games.
1.600 x 50 = 80.000 gold..
well, if you call that a small cost, then come fight with survilogs, its fun to rent 2-3 enhance and kick their asses :D |
1.600 x 50 = 80.000 gold..
Sure, but it's 1,600 games (or 80k gold) over a long period of time.
For example if I play 16 games a day that's equal to 800 gold a day, which isn't a lot imo. |
Little confused, what is "gold card"??? It ask me if i want to buy but i dont understand what it means |
Golden card owners are dealt one extra card in 'Two Towers' games. |

I agree with this. Gold cards are definitely worth the money. :) |

That's like 2 enrols a day; assuming you enrol 10 times a day, that's 20% of your income for barely an extra chance to win per game.
It's worth if you play high stakes and you have a good win ratio, otherwise you're better off keeping the money. |

Do we actually know the increased chance of winning?
And if something is "worth" it, is different from person to person. |
