AuthorMind bogging
Best explanation so far😨😨😨
How is the pirate compass supposed to give you defense?

How is a CUBE supposed to?? XD

However, since defending can be also running (away or retreating, to prepare a counter..), i'd say that if you have something that let you run in a straight line in a given direction, you will be more efficient than someone that runs adrift (in a curvilinear pattern, which is the common for everyone who has no notion of direction), hence you will retreat more efficiently and be better prepared to parry or whatever action you need next.

In this sense, your defense increases.
Maybe when someone tries to kill you with sword,it takes the hit....

It may provide magnetic field around youIt's a big compass you carry on your back.. works like a shield.

the hero carrying it on his back can turn 180* and hence repel the attack

Perhaps it's the piratey look that freaks out the ennemy, so you fight better?

You can find best bush to hide :D Looks cool so enemy decides to become friends instead of attack :P

Even admins might not have these much justifications behind it XD
This topic has a place in my Hall of Fame ROFL

But the compass is so big that it will slow you down when running. No I think that the compass lets you carefully plan where you will fight so you get terrain advantage thus extra defense. This big question that is left unanswered is how you do that without a map artifact?
I mean running away and "defending" you might as well get initiative instead then right would be more fitting to

>hence you will retreat more efficiently and be better prepared to parry or whatever action you need next.
for shubhamgoyal:

Shub!

Really!... SHUB!!!...
The rate of change of flux passing through the accelerating compass produces a voltage. This voltage induces an electric current in the armor.

I do get drunk...sometimes....

But seriously, this is LOCO!...

Shub wins. Right in the hall of fame!...

Ok, Shuby my friend, i don't know what you're smoking, but I really, REALLY want some of that too!!!..

no, no, when you put some distance between you and a group of opponents you are actually getting more time and actions, than if you were just moving faster than them in a fight.
It's illustrated by the popular "hit & run" strategy used in past times by Japanese warriors when they were outnumbered, starting from principle that opposing troops would not move at same speed, so they could match them a small group at time whenever someone would catch up to them.
But of course you need to know where you are going, if you end up in a closed area, then it won't work anymore. And that's why the compass!
in Short , its Jack sparrows legendry compass and it will save your just like it saved him in the movie , if u still dont get it , its sea turtles Mate, enough said. Next Question Please??

Note : And if anyone tries to argue over my answer u know Davy Jones is coming for you.

wonder what you think bogging means.. i only know that bog = toilet. Perhaps you meant mind boggling :p

Maybe for illiterate barbs that only speak Texan... but for the rest of us who use English, a simple Dictionary search on Google, reveals:

bog
verb
gerund or present participle: bogging
cause (a vehicle, person, or animal) to become stuck in mud or wet ground. "the car became bogged down on the beach road"
(of a person or process) be unable to make progress. "you must not get bogged down in detail"

:p
to become stuck in (...) wet ground

Technically, the barbaric mention of the latrines is pretty close to your definition.
bog as a verb is obvious, and commonly used. As a noun, i learned that it also means toilet (perhaps from tv). Also, look at me again, right now i have more knowledge and spell power than you and cannot be called an illiterate barbarian :p

Even the smallest, most seemingly-insignificant items can be the difference between life and death.

In 1881, a faro dealer was shot twice, but one bullet failed to penetrate because it was stopped by a silk handkerchief.

If Archduke Ferdinand had been wearing his silk body armor that fateful day... Many have speculated it would have prevented WWI.

See also the Wichita Massacre... The one survivor lived despite being shot execution-style in the back of the head, because her plastic barrette deflected the bullet.

Normally I would say, oh bullets and guns... that's not canon to Lords! But since the compass came from pirates... who have cannons (not to mention blunderbusses), it IS canon!
