Author | How to choose between weakness and curse? |
i know some stack has same min-max so maybe weakness is better, are there any other advantage/disadvantage between them? | Curse is better the higher the difference between min and max damage of the creature is. Weakness has always the same efficiency. | for Magier:
Not quite true, I believe weakness effect will differ depending on if enemy attack is > or = or < your defence. | Curse is beneficial when enemy creatures has a very wide ratio in min and max. Also it's ratio that matters not difference. It's useful to make some low tiers useless like skeleton bowmen.
Weakness is good too, it majorly depends on opponent attack stats, if opponent has high attack compared to your defense, you should do weakness. If opponent has almost equal attack to your defense then it's worth casting too. But if you already have more defense than his attack then not very useful. There is no such specefic time to cast, as you will gain experience in CGs you'll understand yourself when it's needed, I feel it's not a very important spell at high level but very strong spell at low levels.
PS: if you are going dark magic with attack and defense stats, weakness not much useful some times, if you are going full dark magic with mass decay build, your defense will be low, that's when weakness will be good.
While curse totally depends on your enemy damage ratio, can be useful against factions like elf (unicorn, efk, treefolk etc)
Useless against factions like dwarf, barbarian etc
When you choose dark magic with a charge forward build your attack is usually low with a high defense, so disruption rays are best.
Good luck :d | Also just a trick to decide if curse is worth casting-
If max damage = y
Min damage = x
If y/x >= 1.5 it's always worth casting it :D | In most cases, it'd depend, but these can help you choose -
1. If the max-min difference is huge, curse will work better than weakness, especially if the stack numbers are high. For eg, cursing 25 unicorns (which have min=10, max=20), you're potentially shaving off 5*25 = 125 dmg (with a 50% efficient curse).
2. If casting weakness will take the attack of the target less than your troop's defence however, the change in damage calculation is more significant than reducing their max damage (in most cases). | depends on the stack size and fight type as well. in hunts (no hero stats added to opposing unit) weakness can be very effective. in pvp, if not curse say 200 fiends of opponent 1st, those will kill you quite fast ;) | in terms of effectiveness, the stack size does not really matter.
a 100% curse reducing 10-20 damage range to 10-10 reduces the average damage per creature from 15 to 10, which is a 33% reduction.
a -12 weakness reduces the average damage of the whole stack by x% depending on atk and def parameters.
My calculation regarding this end up on about 40% damage reduction on 10-20 range when reducing 50 to 38 atk when having 40 defense.
In this situation, weakness is on average better, no matter what the stack size is. | Weakness will always decrease their damage output, curse only sometimes will, if they happen to hit min damage anyway the curse will have effectively done nothing.
There are similar arguments between casting bless or rapid or chastise for holy. | Thank you all very much for good explanation | closed by Mercenary Exile (2020-03-14 19:13:08) |
