Is it acceptable to use the word negromanser?
A russian player told me it is common in the russian community and necros are frequently refered to as negro or negr or negromanser

I'd say it is unacceptable. You might find it harmless because it's childishly benign to you, but some might get offended.
Or let me put it this way: if I started calling Russians odd names, like calling them raging orcs, or putin-o-minions, etc... (which I do not do!), then I'd get instantly banned for instigation or political innuendos or insulting, etc...

Can someone explain to me why? There or private. I really don't see anything offensive in this shorten. What is wrong whith the word "negr"? In my opinnion it can be campared with "lucker" for elves or IMBA for knights 13-17 levels. Depending on the situation, this can be a little offensive, but generally harmless. |

This is the internet. You will learn to find the most inappropriate things to be harmless, but perhaps I am too jaded to be concerned about this but that wasn't the point. I agree that the wordplay is in bad taste and will provoke some people, but I meant it when I said that SOME (not ME, so don't say "you") might simply find it childish and ignore worthy. |
Guys, guys... In case you get offended by this, i'm gonna remind you, that the word came from Spanish language and the meanning of it is "black" just like "schwarz" in german. So if you are to be offended it's not our fault. We have a tradition to call "негр" who you call "afro-american" or what not.
Why am i talling you that? Coz we are not gonna dictate you what should you say and what shouldn't and i'd like you not to dictate us.
If you wanna know, there is no even a bit of a racism on our side. We have racist words for the our african friends, but this word is not one of them. |
It's not just a word translated... it is the meaning it carries: deep historical connotations.

To understand the gravity it carries, (no, it is not harmless) calling a black man by that word can get you arrested in US, Canada, France, etc... for racism, disorderly conduct or provoking a fight (probably a few other countries/reasons more...) |
