but it really creates a problem for admins and to the players bcoz of such a heavy work load on admins.

we had got only 2 people with no reason here | | on .ru server online every day is 9k-13k, but here online so small 1k, invitite new players and get high lvls and we have new events and more fun | please fellas, stay on topic, so that it is taken seriously.

I know very good that there are many problems on this server, Admins know it too, but they are not machines!!!!They are humans.They are running a gigantic event on .ru.Some time ago, while on dragon attacks, this one was their attention.Now they have draw their attaention on .ru.They haven't forget us!
They have bought a new server because the old one was lag.But still we complain about lag and other stuf.Would you prefer the old server now?i think no1 would prefer the old one to the new.
There are complaints about cheating.I respect these complaints because they distrub player's game.It IS a good idea for police and for more power at mods.But for a succesfull game if you keep complaining and complaining you won't get anything.Like it? stay nad play. Don't like it? You can leave if you want, but propably you'll lose the fun that'll come in a short time.i'm sure of it.
Policy is important and it need attention.Our time will come soon!Just be patient and enjoy the game a slong as you can before they new ypdates arrive to change it:D

Regarding the work of the admins:
No reply on "secretary" topcis for weeks to reasonable support issues. Thats far out of line. Especially on Payment issued.
The magic word is "delegation". If the makers of this game arnt capable of covering the most basic needs, they should delegate more power to the mods. Its as simple as that.
And with "not able to" I mean to respond to any legitimate PM within a 72 hours working period. Every commercial (money making) organisation on the world has to deliver support for the merchandize goods they are selling to their customers.
Most common example in this game:
Player A is buying a Thief Invitation with real money (diamonds). He loans the TGI to player B. Now player B is surprisingly blocked. So the real money investement of player A is lost. Player A now has a support issue. Allthough the terms and conditions state, that lost values are not compensated, he has the right of receiving support on that issue with 72 hours. If that is not given, the company will loose their trusted (and paying) customers. This leads to less money going into developement and support. And their you have your vicious circle. But only the company is able to change that, unlike the customer. | Ok, my take on the subject...

No, that's why it's called a donation program. Giving money is voluntary, and you get in-game benefits on top of it. Certainly not bragging rights.
Regarding the work of the mods: Very very good. Like no other.
I'm not sure mods do such a great work, but certainly a good work - or at least an acceptable one (would LordSchniesel agree?). But the point is that mods' acceptable work makes quite a difference with absent adminstrators. That's driving people mad: they get banned for the slightest offense in Complaints and Applications forum (moderator work) but cheaters don't get punished (admin work). Not everyone knows that and it certainly contributes to give a very bad impression on the casual onlooker.

Few admins - people behind the game, as you call them - are really fluent in English, as many unintentionally funny sentences show. This is why "admins" aren't naturally inclined to work on this server nor to reply to people through Dealer, Secretary, etc. Expressing oneself in a foreign language requires times and effort.
This is not an excuse, merely an explanation. But it explains a lot.
And for the issue at hand, I don't have any instant answer - delegate, well...
Can you imagine the damage done if you delegate to the wrong person? If I was an admin, I would think twice before giving such a privilege to anyone. Only someone I would trust and know well - but it's very difficult if both of you don't speak the same language. If you followed me here, you now understand the vicious circle at hand.

We know that admins feel the same way. There are not enough "sweepers"(I think Shebali posted this a while ago). We just want to show that we think this part of game needs improvement. | Wow. First, I think it'll be good to tell my role in the game simply as a means to show where I am coming from on this subject. I am a Chat Mod, Forum Mod, I write the topics seen on the Home Page and Official Announcements page, i.e. The Chronicler, and am a member of the (hopefully soon to expand) "Imperial Court".
Second, I strongly agree with the 1st and 3rd posts (and some follow-ups afterwards) on this topic. There ought to be a stronger policing at the admin or 'sweeper' level. The mods I think do a good job, and the amount of hate-mail they/we receive tells me I'm right on that (that being, that enough ppl are getting angry that they're being caught). But the truth that cheating, scamming, criminal, obnoxious, and offensive behavior is not being punished is a shame to the gaming community. It has been suggested by others (and myself) that SOME, TRUSTWORTHY mods should be given additional powers to deal with these extreme cases. For those who have been playing longer than the change of the year, we can rememeber a 2-3 month gap from admins. The circle comes around on itself. This should not happen. Again I am speaking of 'dealing with problems and problem-people in the game' only.

Third, complaining doesn't help - suggestions do. But then again, only when the suggestions are being heard by someone. I understand the disgrunted attitudes. Having heard the cry of the people I will say that I will try to figure out what I can do on the above subject.
Fourth, I had read above that there was someone just looking for updates of any kind. I can say that I personally have been keeping busy writing a story about the history of LordsWM.com. You can read it in the Creative Forum, and discuss it in the Off Game forum. Link is below:

Lastly, despite my point of understanding malcontent players, on a business point of view, .ru SHOULD hold MORE of an importance. It is their major project - at least until this one catches up. Also, I think it a proud thing that we are able to speak freely about this and we can therefore expect change to come as of a result.
P.S. Telling complaining players to 'go away' or 'stop playing' doesn't really solve the problems of the game. =)
P.S.S. I purposely stayed away from the 'admins don't need us' comment. | The policing force that we all seem to really wish for doesn't need to be large...It just needs to be active and existent. I spoke earlier of a game with multiple servers in nearly every developed nation in the world. Each server has only 10 "team members" to serve as the policing force for a server containing anywhere from a few thousand members up to 45000+ members. These people don't catch everything by any means, but they try their best, and I'd say they do a darn good job. They have the power to ban players for insulting others in IGMs, transferring too many resources to another account, or for more serious offenses (such as the threatening of another's life as seems to be occurring now on this server). These people also respond to messages sent to them (mostly either complaints about another player who is cheating, or complaints or questions as to why a person is banned), and I'd give them an A+ on always responding within 24 hours. Again, these are all volunteers who love the game and want to see it remain as awesome as it is.
Please don't be one of those people who tell me to go back to it if I love it so much...I quit playing it because I didn't have the time to devote to being online every minute of everyday to keep my village safe. It is a real time game, and your village can be attacked and destroyed when you are not online, and this is why I did not return after the restart of the server.
If they can make it work with a handful of volunteers and over 45000 players in a single server, why can't the admins start with just a few (even 2 or 3) trustworthy people who have the time to devote to this game? Perhaps at first they could be forum or chat mods obviously the person has to be willing to accept the position and not just appointed to the position, and any added at a later date would be required to NOT be forum mods such that the forum mods don't end up overworked or accidentally banning a player from the whole game when they really meant to ban the player from just the chat or forum. As the number of players grows in this server, we can add more "police," which I would recommend be either elected by the existing "police" or could be suggested by the existing police and reviewed by the administration. I would suggest a review by the administration regardless of whether they go with election or suggestion from the (at the time) existing police. This would also be able to increase the time spread of the policing force such that it would be possible to have at least one policeman/policewoman online at all times, or almost all times. This could also help cover the language barrier, and eventually being it that all the police are not the forum moderators.
This may be a little off topic, but since someone brought up the fact that most of the admins don't speak English well, and used it as a possible reason why the admins don't respond to topics sent to the "secretary"...But... My main question about that is... if the admins didn't want to deal with the problems and complaints in English, and didn't want to take the extra bit of time to have someone respond in English (as we pointed out earlier, even a simple "thank you" or "this issue will be investigated" would be a sufficient reply, and I think we can handle a few funny sounding sentences because they don't speak English well if need be), why did they make an English server their project? I wouldn't go and try to run the Russian server, because I don't speak Russian.
Again, I'm not complaining about the game play, and in fact, I'm not really complaining about the lack of admins/police force on this server in this post, I'm simply pointing out that I've played other games, with A LOT more players than this server and they've had great support with just a few dedicated and active members. And I'm suggesting ways to correct our lack of police force. Trust me, if I had the time to devote to this game | | Also, the main reason why the support from the other game was so good, is because each server had a different team of police. A person could be a police on more than one server, but it is rare. This keeps the admins focused on their own server instead of being distracted by wars and other events on other servers. | Hm. I read through the last few pages here and I'm honestly surprised that this became a constructive means of discussion instead of boiling down to mindless complaining. Props to that.
On another note, I apologize for my post before. I was prompted by ISLEofVIEW to actually take a look at CaA; which I haven't done for a long while. Indeed it does look as if there needs to be a better distribution of responsibility to take care of the cheaters and whatnot.
As for the "the admins don't need us, we need the admins..." bit; I did not make that as a general statement to all games. I meant that as a statement to this server alone. We, the players, are already here and playing the game. The admins have tried to please us... succeeding in some places and failing in others. A key point here is that their last post involves the switch to a new host. Even though lag was largely reduced, the forums were still filling with complaints over lag. Instead of being happy of the improvement, people were practically up in arms over the lag they were still getting. I admit I had a bit of lag here and there after the switch, but it was nothing compared to how it used to be. It seems to me that this was a bad sign to the admins and they probably went on hiatus until we cooled down a bit. What more could they do? They have their main project -- .ru -- to work on in the meantime. So what do they have to worry about? If anything that shows that they don't need us -- .com -- to keep their projects going. Of course, this is still a project of theirs', but we are the offspring of their larger project. If you think of the developers as actual people, wouldn't you imagine they would stick with their primary, successful project when they try and make their secondary project happy when all they get are complaints for most of their actions?
So it does seem, that right now we need the admins more than they need us. My suggestion is only that perhaps we show a little more appreciation. We enjoy the game as they made it for us and, if we have suggestions to make, perhaps we should consider doing so in a manner that doesn't degrade their past decisions.
Despite my mood in my last post, I'll have to retract that previous attitude and say that I approve of this thread in that it is more of an activist thread than a complaints thread.

Hey dude there are differnt opinions and if someone doesn't agree with you, than it's still doesn't mean that he is wrong,
about my offtopic flood as some smartppl sayed, all this topic is a flood, couse is some ppl think that someone owns em, it's their problem not everyones,
the ban i had yesterday 2 cool down like it was said, is nothing else like a behavior of a non genious one,
it was my opinion i posted here and i have the right for it, ban everyone who disagrees with you ppl is real childish, you can ban me on forum? even block this acc i don't care it's still only a game.
and you ppl should be greatfull to admins for creating somethink that borns so much emotions here! |
