I'll burn on a witch's pyre before I will deny myself or the other good lords and ladies the right to question the treatment of Arctic and the growing collection of people in detention cells.
This is not acceptable in a civilised empire and until recently was not the way of our Empress. We will find out the truth of all this in due course I am sure....but repent of my sins...my Lord your ears would blush at the sins my long life has produced!...but none of my sins would have anything to do with the current issue:)

The troops you take to the battlefield are servants to you, it is not in their power or ability to question your orders, and this means they have no responsability for their actions: for everything they do you are the only ones responsible.
You, however, have a conscious: the power and ability to question commands you receive from whom you have pledge allegiance to, and this means the responsability of your actions belongs not to who gave you the order, but to yourselves. You cannot skip responsability. The good or evil of your deeds is YOUR good and evil, not the Empresses, nor your MC leaders. Dont think that you will ever be excused of being held accountable for all that you do by saying "I was just following orders". A conscious soldier who kills a child or rapes a woman while following orders, is himself an assassin and a rapist.
