faction level 0 knight was also OK for ambush in level 7. And since you get 1 skp per successful ambush, you will get high faction level soon. Even tg 4 was doable in my view if you start as level 0 knight at level 7. :)

My EGs got zapped in this fight a coupla times with hero's lightning spell and a few died. I thought EGs are immune to lightning?

Didn't see anything about this....how exactly does the apparition regen work? I'm trying to figure out how killing 1 magi gave back 7 apparitions.

each mana it drain will revive one appartion. So it didn't concern with the number of the magi but the mana of the magi.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from my experience it seems like they get one apparition back per mana they steal.
Any suggestions about lvl9 wiz thief ambush? I met 42hell horse and ........
That caravan is pretty much auto-loss for a level 9 wizard unless you play might build and 1st turn genies attack horse and do luck ( and still seems rather unlikely anyway ). As i ( and many others ) said again and again, dont expect too much ambushing as a wizard :(

Of course you will be able to reach TG2 without huge problems but still dont expect to win every single caravan. Demons and barbarians caravans especially will be the hardest in general for you.
and the dark elf caravan with lots of shrews is by far the worst I've seen.

This kind of caravan was hard for level 9 wizard. But it is still doable.

the creature in the center vary from hell horse to devil. One way was as Jabbar's words, use genie to attack the hell horse and hope luck befalls genie. While I think level 9 wizard might rely on spell rather than melee attack in ambush. So you might try my strategy. Use 2 stack genie instead of one, and don't attack the horse or the shooter (attack shooter will release the horse to make more damage), just cast spell on the horse. With 2 stack of genie you will have 2*3=6 spell on the horse, and poison spell will be on the horse with great possibility. Since the horse will wait and wait, once poison was on, it will suffer around 2 poison damage each round. with the punch of magi and lighting of your hero, soon the number of hosre will decrease and then you can attack with your troops.

Reflecting on your own succession rate as you just started thieving, you will definately have a better chance of succeeding with magic, because at level 7 we dont have enough initiative.

I think some would still be hard with full arts...
I want to improve my skill before full-arted.

does magic mirror do well in thiefing?
I think magic mirror would be great for some caravans and useless for others. The only problem you don't know which caravan you will get. Although at lvl 8 I guess you can choose magical mirror over basic sorcery. I went with the basic sorcery since it would be useful for all caravans.
I just started theiving. I'm only using minimum arts, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I took out my first caravan with little difficulty. I'm also using advanced sorcery right now, it seems like it would be more useful than other combos.

I will probably switch back to advanced sorcery once I start using my full arts set, but I was just wondering what other wizards had to say about sorcery for ambushes.
What are good miniarts for Golems?

Go to 4 knowledge first then all points in spellpower.
