Authortransferring second character
Hi,

I mailed Secretary with no response, I wanted to see if anyone could give me input on this:

Hi,

a friend wants to play with one of my secondary chars, i'm willing to let him go.

If I don't play it anymore, is that ok?

thanks,

Vaurien
as long as u r not selling it i think it might be ok not sure thow
It's forbidden. Please refer to game rules:

https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=5

3.7. Password transfer to a different user and collective account managing are forbidden.

If your friend want to play this game, he has to start as level 1 like everyone else - including my friends.
Strange I would not have interpreted 3.7 as you have.

To me it sounds like giving someone else the password so more than 1 person can play and advance the character.

If it said: Character transfer....then it would be clear!
vaurien: in english, it says:

password transfer to a different user is forbidden; (<-plainly your intention)
collective account managing is forbidden;

so BOTH things are forbidden with 1 single sentence.

And since it is telling you not to do 2 things, verb gets plural..

"character transfer" isn't really a good expression, since you don't give your friend a character into another account, but you actually would give him username and password of an existing account.
So, by saying that password transfer is not allowed, the rules forbide precisely to let another person play with one of your accounts.
If it takes you almost 15 lines to answer me, it doesn't look like the forbid (without the e) is very "precise".

Character transfer: ie transferring my CHARACTER to my friend, still seems much clearer than the existing text.

If password transfer = character transfer then you are right.
But it seems plausible to me that the Maker was thinking of people abusing the system (which is not my intent) and that they are indeed not equal and thus I could still permanently and in exchange for nothing have my friend play with one of my secondary chars.

Any OTHER thoughts?

Thanks!
Any OTHER thoughts?

No. Because there can't be any.
password transfer to a different user is forbidden - and there's no way for your friend to play with your char unless you tell him the password.

Of course you could, theoreticaly, log in for your friend every time he wants to play (without telling him pass) but then it would fall under collective account managing which too is forbidden

If it takes you almost 15 lines to answer me, it doesn't look like the forbid (without the e) is very "precise".
Maybe it's not the terms, maybe it's you?
Sorry vaurien; that rule seems pretty self-explanatory to me.
It's a good thing I get the last word on this.

Funny how people can't answer a straightforward question without getting personal.

Ha ha.
