In your lvl I would just avoid them, I tried them 2 or 3 times when I was lvl 5 and lost all.
against our faction, we arent that much strong, so dont try it !
hi guys. I've just reached level 5. any suggestions on how to make my build? currently i've dumped all my skill points into knowledge. i'm wondering should i invest on other skills or just stick to knowledge? :)

should i get skeletal bowmen as soon as possible? i've got a question though. how do they count the skeleton in reserve? sometimes after a battle all my skeleton will be gone. but sometimes they won't. hope someone can explain to me.

and 1 more question. my friend told me that we can learn talent once we hit level 5. i've heard that basic erudition is the best for newbie, because it adds more skill point. is that true? should i take it or take other talents instead?
talents: take basic erudition - you get 1 stat point and you can replace it evrey time you reset the talent

rest stats: all except 1to knowledge 1 to spellpower

skeleton bows: must have, your first ranged unit, changes your playing style to defensive

anyways to my question, can somebody tell me what art set they used for thieving at level 6? or should I hold out and wait until lvl 7 for SoM and better arts?

I'll give some general advice and also specific things from your win against 72 cubs.

Against lizard cubs there's one golden rule: Only dead stacks are good stacks^^ Always try and kill individual stacks asap, even if you do a little too much damage with the last hit.
I'd have tried to go for the stack you shot with bows in 1st turn with all stacks. Also, if you use at least one ghost in the wall around the bows, there's a chance they will be able to shoot longer.

Try to always move your stacks so they stand next only to the lizards that come first. If you move to another stack, the first moving stack will come to bite you and get assisted from his buddy you stand next to. Something I tend to forget is that they also assist when retaliating...can be a nasty surprise for someone's ghosts ^^

Anyway, cubs are quite a nasty enemy. Try asking for assistance, if you don't feel like taking them on yourself. They have a very nice XP:skill ratio, so it's likely someone will.

I think it's crap, 75hp for 1 mana back is way to much, if my entire skeleton bowmans get killed I get lousy 8 mana back, that isn't even sufficient, to cast 1 raise. I would only take if i had those 5 points left and it if I find no better combination of talents to deplete my talentpoints.
I do totally agree that DMG per Mana is really too high.
I could lose all my 150 skellys with 6 hp and wouldnt get enough for one raise.

But, I though they could change it for something a bit more interesting

Agreed, spirit link needs to be replaced, but NOT with original version of Weil of the Banshee
This would counter the fact that ohter faction beats us with high init troops and morale boost, that would just be fair.

And for Spriit Link, 75 dmg per 1 mana, is way to high to be good

its actually -1 luck and morale and 10% initiative, though the -1 luck is too oiverpowered, so -1 morale and - 10% init would be enough.

YESSS. do you know what makes living creatures so much better? they are faster, get turns faster, and get double turns because of morale, we need something to tip the scales.

I'd take it as a 10-point talent, anyways its like gating, you can only use it once per battle, so its fair enough. besides, if we implement this knights can get benediction (the knight equal to this)

anyways this isn't overpowered, howl of terror is overpowered(upgrade of banshee howl)
Banshee Howl special ability additionally dampens enemy morale by -6.
Spirit link is really nice,point is you need to know how to use it!!!!!

I found it good for raids:Spirit link on Vamps and go and kill them with vamps,I managed to suck out like 20-30 mana out of them(you need to know how to use vamps too btw xD)!

It is also good for hunts!
But it is only good combined with one thing VITALYTI!
Spirit link on bowmen 1st turn in hunts and all shotters shot em you gain like 16 mana,ENOUGH for me!

Yeah 75 damge is a high price!So I prefer spirit link only to combat necros with 20 or less mana,the one with 40 use Basic Nature!

Spirit link as an essential talent for combat necros. Without it, you would run out of mana on difficult NPC battles.

I just made a sad discovery :(

if liz cubs come in more than 3 stacks, you're screwed if its above yellow with min arts :(

check top hunts for lv 6 necro, you will see 2 of 3 hunts are with a very lucky setup-- only 2 stacks, this way they only get a max of 4 attacks, assuming both attack with pack attack per turn, the more stacks there are the more attacks they get, 3 stack get 9, 4 get 16, and 5 get max of 25 attacks!

so that guy who fought 5 stacks may well be the most skilled one of them all (tacticly) because he fought with the hardest setup.
