Guys what's the big deal with zombie against monsters or in PvP?
Is it their infecting strike ability?
Is this ability THAT good? Isnt that a one hit thing (they hit, they get retaliated, they die?)?
Please elaborate. (Do you split them, rather than split ghost now?)
Im wondering if I should upg the zombie ASAP or wait a bit once I reach lvl 8. |

not when you bring tons of them

yes, split zombies
when the monster's att and def parameter are down or close to 0, they wont do much damage to vamp, while vamp sucks life every retaliation hit and normal hit, and slowly bring the monster's hp down to 0 |

15 necro isnt the worst to ambush its demon.

demon is not bad at ambush at all
even before they get cerberi, they are one of the best as thief at lv 6 - 7 |
The worst faction for ambushing are wizards and knights,necro is so so!
Demon is one of th ebst factions for ambushing :)!
And survival tourney means nothing,no faction is the best faction,it just depends on your playing stile! |
in this hame necros are much weaker than in homm V, ghosts here have only 8 hp, in homm V they have 16(!) and skeletal bowmen have 5 hp unlike ours, who have only 4, if game is still balanced there, why are we weaker here? and skeletons are soo weak shoters, you could have 1k and it would still be weaker than about 50-60 elven bowmen or any other...we are to weak in this game to be victorious for to long. |
skeletal bowmen are a nice shooter...but with your weak 9 attack you wont be victorious for too long dont worry!
Change to might necro,and try your dmgs then :)! |

As i thought, this ability is good agasint monsters ONLY.
I still believe its not that great agasint other players...
I would rather have ghost splits than zombie splits to take their reta and maneuvre around the battlefield.
Zombie has too little initiative and speed to be of any tactical assets (unless they wanna block your archers)... |

They are useful for any situation, just that players know enough to kill them first before a stack of Infected reduce their precious 30 Defence Guardians to 0 defence
Ghosts can take retal, but are better as a damage dealing unit than in stacks of 1 unless you expect strong Chaos magic.
The infected can reduce att and def when taking retal and if he does not kill the infected, it can do it again. It forces people to either use an attack to kill it (if it wasn't a stack of 1 and thus survived) or risk it lowering their most powerful stack's att and def.
Zombies' initz and speed are a hinderance, but if used effectively, can works as a strong tactical asset |

Im not saying they useless but zombie ability is too limited to RELIABLY use it in a PvP battle.
Sure i will definitely have 1 stack or a couple of 1 units stacks of zombies but will these will only be used as a secondary trick / tactics. What i mean is im NOT goign to devise a battle plan around the zombie but instead a 'if it hits its GREAT. if not, well too bad' attitude
Not like other faction tier 2 upg.. who does not fear battle dance.. sure i will use this to my advantage (less likely for my zombies to get killed) but as i said too slow and too low initiative to actually be of any use at the beginning or middle of battles... sure at the end they may be of some use agasint tough opponents but i doubt they will be reducing a 30 defence guardian to 0 defence THAT quickly. |

I understand. Necros as a faction are slow. If you try to speed up to match everyone else you will lose since other people have a better foundation of speed to work on.
Instead bring the opponent to your terms, your level. The best way to beat Battledance is to hit it head on and kill the EFKs before they hit you. Too much is placed on a unit that an entire tactic is worked about that if someone turns the tactic against them, there is no backup. Each unit in the Necro's arsenal is a tactic in itself, you'll always have a fall-back... until you run out of mana... |

Look at my 302 monsters merc quest done and you will see the Strength of the Infected Zombies, in 5 stacks they can reduce a Devil Monster (3) from 60 att and def to 0 in about 4 turns. Bring Liches for Target and Vampires for Life Draining and Ill tell you, you are good to do A LOT of monster Merc. |

YES I agree zombies are very good against bots / AI / NPC / stupid monsters.
But how are they in PvP battles? (that's what i AM INTERESTED... anyone can kill stupid bots in one way or another)
Do you brag about your zombies reducing player's units from OVER 9000 to zero? |

You can ask Abby, one of my friend, shes a Knight player, ask her what we was targetting first when we were level 8-9 and I was full Infected Zombies (64)...and she was bringing her swordmen/guardians in to kill...Just ask her
But in group battle, its less good, its true, but every units as is usefulness, Infected are very useful for Merc Quest |

In PvP battles it's hard because people gang up on the Necro to take her out first. Necros have a good staying power come mid to late game if not ganged up on early in my opinion.
But when I can find a player with 9000 units and beat them using infected zombies, I'll be sure to tell you. |

Once i become lvl8, i will use zombie as (a) a support (multiple 1 unit stacks throw awy) and (b) as a main threat (64 zombies??? lol).
Then I will know personally what they are capable of.
But I wont hold my breath for exceptional PvP prowess of zombies. |
