I think you never waste gold for other castle ;-)
But I must admit that barb is really "PvP king" in almost ANY type of group, while playing demon can be tricky and even non-effective sometimes.
As for gating, it doesn't worth it until you have 5+ skill level...
But again, you'd like to make *your own* decision, right?
Maybe just browse several (dozens) battles and see what you like more? |

Barbarian won't let you down
Demon is useless in duels, and may let you down vs. DE. In GB, elves won't hurt you with EFK and uni, and their bows will be gone if you're going to win :D |
Yeah, you are right, Xerfer.
Barb is strong in any circumstances.
But, you are a Demon, tell me about the glory of being demon. Tell me how it feel when you control 14 stacks of unit. :)

without tactics DE has no chance :) . As i said they need just 2 stacks to kill ur mistress and still have other 2 stacks to kill horses or cerbs. If u rly want to defeat DE not just quickly kill 1 of 4 stacks of shrews u need to gate ur horses 1st as they are quite usefull with fear atack and high ini coz 1 stack of horses cant defeat liz cav but 2 stacks can do that quite easily. |

Well hell horse monster is just plain dangerous- fear attack is based on HP difference... so yeah.

Well demon shines with ranged support/control. Without it, you'll wish you'd never joined. I'll you one thing you'll usually get top experience when you win, and even about half and half when you lose. But since demons really have no shooter 9-11, its all about ranged control and support. |

i agree with marked_one. Every DE player has tactic only chrisl no. But chrisl has thief set artefakts ( 9 speed with shrews - don't need tactic). => De can hit mistress very easy ....

at 12 and 13 is better Demon.

i dont understand, with tactics means that only 2 stacks of shrews will be able to hit shrews without wall blocking and mistresses on the corner.
but there will be cave demon blocking the way, so only one stack of shrews will be able to hit mistresses if they're lucky enough with the init bar.
while on the other side horses also able to charge shrews with DE's tactics...
how can it be very easy? |

Sut demons surely arent best for duel try to duel wizard like Kusika u will c what i mean also knight with def only skill u wont even scratch him befor duel is over :) |

If u charge ur horse be prepared to loose them very quick sure u taken out 1 stack of shrews but there are 3 other left and believe me even if there is even 1 shrew left in stack they are still very dangerous in combo with assailants which u cant kill since u already used ur horse against shrews without gating another horses :) |
Everything depends on Talents, Artributs(attack,spellpower...),recruiting, Artefacts, consternation your army , "luck" and of course ability players...
Every charakter(demon,barbar,knight) can be defeated. |

I think a high faction lvl demon is the best choice for duel at 12+. A DE is way more dangerous in a gb situation than in a duel, because you have less space to hide and a lower chance for rocks to hide behind.
You are almost always able to shoot once with mistress when playing against a DE in gb, the difficult part is to shoot a second time with them. But if you manage that you are probably winning:)
Back to question: both barb and demon are good a gb, you should decide on your prefered style of play. |

Antos had holy magic skills his def was only 21 thats very bad skill set for duels. now imagine he had 40 def + escort u wont be able to even scratch his guardians not even with luck coz none of ur units can ignore def and ur mistress run out of ammo before doing any serious damage :) |
