IN RECENT DAYS, Warriors' Guild Council discussed over the "Fake AFK tactic", ie. feigning AFK in order to lure opponents into a trap. The question arose after we witnessed example of such behavior in different battles. Should it be considered a valid tactic? How did it fit with our values? Was it contradicting our rule #4, "Play in a timely manner from beginning to end, no matter if you are winning or losing" ?
Many participants took part in the discussion, even more in the vote. An overwhelming majority (91%) of the Council voted AGAINST this tactic. Faking AFK is a "meta-game" tactic definitely against good sportsmanship.
Therefore, faking AFK for any reason is considered a breach of Warriors' Guild Rule #4. It is NOT a valid battle tactic. Any member caught indulging in such tricks will be fined or evicted as per being AFK.

**** ANNOUNCE: LEADERSHIP CHANGE ****
The Warriors' Guild is the greatest active clan on Lords of War and Money server, and the basis on which the largest military clan, Warriors' Guild Wrath, is built. It has been a pleasure and a source of pride to manage Warriors' Guild during all this time, from the simple idea that non-AFK players were plaguing the game to a huge community of more than 800 heroes and a busy forum on a dedicated website.
Yet, it's now time for me to transfer clans leadership to a new hero, who will hopefully infuse the clan with new life and fresh ideas.
Because of the very structure of the clans, the new leader has to be both member of Warriors' Guild Wrath and of Warriors' Guild Council. Since the former condition is more restrictive than the latter, members of the military clan are already aware of my resignation and started deciding who the next leader should be; Elections will be held in forthcoming days. Candidates are:
- Queen_Amanda
- Dizbe
- Silverhand
Only Warriors' Guild Wrath members can vote. The result, however, will be public.
What will change for our members? On core values of the Guild, not much. I doubt anyone would claim that it's now ok to be AFK in battle, for example. But we can certainly expect more clan mails, more events and a more lively community, and perhaps changes in clan management structure. Watch out our community website for new opportunities if you want to be part of it!
Am I quitting the game? Not at all. But at a point I had to set my in-game involvement in line with what is left of my free time. Being Moderator, Keeper, leader of Warriors' Guild and Warriors' Guild Wrath and forum website administrator was just too much! Trying to do too many things at once, clan management was lacking and I ended up exhausted. Our clan members deserved better. That's why I thought stepping down would be the best solution. I know any change causes concern and some will regret my decision, but there's no point in trying to cling to the past. Just give your new leader a chance, there are tons of exciting projects under development!
All will be set in a few days, end of April at most. I'm still a community member and won't leave any clan either. I look forward to meet fellows on the battlefield! Against Dwarves, who knows! ^_^ |
