Authorharder penalty for afk - why not?
Its annoying that up to lvl 6 50% of all games are decided by afk's.

Why not harsher penalties?
well, the argument always goes, that you cannot decide if someone went afk on purpose or because a bad connection. i personaly think that if you don't have a working stabile connection you shuldn't play in the first place... and most people wouldn't anyway because it's frustrating.

truth might be that it would be a lot more work...
Maybe because some people have bad internet connection, and it's not their fault if they lose their connection.

mmh - i guess its a question of making it fair for people with bad connections or making it playable for everyone else.

I don't think I am excaterating much by saying that 50% of games under lvl 7 are decided by AFK.
under 8 lvl -i think yes,you right.but.... It is impossible to admit, that the innocent suffered.
for example : i have good internet connection, but today i have little trouble...dont setlement my troops and 5 players wait me...but i say:"sorry",-they say:"all ok",and we complete battle.

If a person fails to turn up for work one day because he wanted to stay in bed longer and the another didn't turn up for work because he got into an accident and was in hospital, do you inflict the same penalty to both? Should the boss fire both for not turning up for work?
i think the afk frequency make the punishment difference. if somewhan make for afk just for fun, or help a people from oposite team to win. will have for example at charater page 50 afk. one who make sometime afk for connection problem will have only 3-4 afk. the punisment for 50-th afk shoud be bigger than for the 4-5th. and who join in group battle will see who is big afk player and can avoid that player. an in group combat if exist a widraw obtion, all player can widraw from battle is a bigg nr AFK player enter in he battle. And that time the AFK player will be less and less. because will don't have the chance to became afk to help others players or just for fun.
sorry the spelling error. is wery annoying to enter in the battle 3 vs 3 and wait, and wait for an afk. is better to fight allone, or with non player creature. than group combat. the group combat is the best part of tat game, and some people just sabotage the game becoming afk.
why do you think there are just a few AFK on higher levels? because their connection gets better by leveling up?

i think the answer may have two parts:

first - people simply don't go AFK on purpose anymore once they reach a high level. it costs them arts and time and is frustrating and boring...

second - people that don't have a reliable connection stopped playing because it costs them (arts and) time and is frustrating and boring...

how about making a progressing penalty then?

the first ten AFK it's the normal penalty. for each 10 more, penalty get's prolonged by an hour.
or it may even be enough to have a AFK statistic on your character page, so everyone sees if you/ or your connection is reliable...

Forget it, veterans who have been here for more than a year know what it is like not to be heard. So just keep quite and stop flooding with useless topics. BTW, my multi has been here since last year, not this main :)

This is just sad. Depressing almost...
is very sad to read that. because the AFK-s are one thing that push that game to die. because here i saw about 1000 heroes online. One player have about 3-5 heroes. because the heroes doesn't interact between them, the admins let them play. i have 3 heroes too, who are not interact each other to try another factions.
Form 1000 heroes online there are max 300-400 real people. from thats real people about 150-200 are AFK. The other half are the people who like the game, and who hate the AFK.

Because the AFK complains are not listen, the players who like the game will look for another games and doesn't play that game anymore. in the game will remain only the afk people who will make to go away the all new people. thats why every battle from all lvl 1-5 have 1 afk.

that why i came with an idea who i think is not hard to implement.
a statistic about character's AFK frequency. to see other people whics character to avoid in group battles. And make a progressing penalties for the afk.

because this problems appear every week means this a very big and important problem. Who must be resolved before other problems.
Ok, i do agree we should do this AFK thing. I have read so many threads like this but do not comment on them. This is the first for me.

Firstly, I am sorry if my comment is abit hard on you, even saddening. But it is true, i have not seen major changes in this game. And to have a HUGE change like that would take some major scripting, change codes.

But all i see is tiny trickles of coding being done once in a while. IT is rare to find something like that happen. But good luck

And i give a +1 to all those brilliant ideas already brought up, like "AFK statistics" and "harsher penalties for progressive afk"

Let us hope the admin has heard us.

Fire the one who had the accident! How could he be so careless! He dares have an accident! Such an easily avoidable thing!

If the person who dosn't come to work because he wanted to stay asleep then don't fire him if he is sleeping on a seally bed (A brand of beds and mattresses) Because those beds are really comfy.
