You are very correct. The only problem is that many players confuse admins, mods, sages, and keepers. It is the same issue when players confuse hackers and scammers.
For anything different, foreign, or they just plain don't understand, people just take the extreme position and broadly apply it to everyone and everything.
Each position does something different. There is few or no overlap. |

Well, not being entirely sure what you're after, I will say that I have spoken to the admins (via mail) and have had responses.
Also, once long ago when I was still a "normal" mod, Empire sent me a PM kinda out of the blue.
I've also tracked down Lexa to do some work on this server once. ^_^
Language-barrier is a hindrance though, since I'm not fluent in Russian. |
| when the Admins are here this isearlier this year Arctic dissappeared for over 6 months,there was NO Admins here at all for 6 months,thats why there were so much cheating going on there isnt enough Admins here long enough to do the job.everyday the list gets longer and longer,but little is being done,it seems the Admins are much to busy giving the russians everything they want.I play on the Russian server too and they have alot of great stuff threre that we dont here |

Slynkys post (16) sums it up well, from my point of view.
Mods maintain the forum, nothing else. Admin assistance isn't needed for moderating, and there is no need for mods to have special access to the admin. Some more experienced mods can give some guidance to less experienced mods through PMs or the mod forum, and that's all that's really needed. |

Isn't #373 (LWM - Keepers. Violation in Tavern and Battles) an official clan? Why has it been specifically made an exception for it?
Why isn't Arctic also a keeper?

Yes, it is.

Arctic is technically a Keeper... he can administer penalties for violations without being in the Keeper clan. The role of keeper has nothing to do with moderation and vice-versa, they are two very distinct jobs.
Our two current Keepers do an excellent job and there have been hardly any complaints against them... none at all that I am aware of. Our moderation groups on the other hand have regularly been accused of favoritism or other various abuses. |
Our moderation groups seem to come from only on clan too Warriors,and they do play favorites when something is said against one of there clan mates.I you acuse and even have proof that one is cheating (financial assistance,item trading ect),you post it,30 minutes later the post is gone.I have seen it happen more than a couple times

telling the truth, someone did complains on keepers. but, it was in private channel :) we never earn the respect and more on hatreds; i just wonder how large my fans club had grow XD
they even try to intimidate us that they will bring the case to admin to bring us down for our 'WRONG' judgment. oh, come on. i had been threatened for so many times in LWM, i dont mind get another. someone have to do the dirty job for the cleaning.
also, some players did complains to mods / keepers that someone wasnt get blocked for cheating; ask for unblock; ask for update and bla bla bla.
i m not sure whether other mods get such PM or not but i was too frequent get those PM. that's why i had post something in my personal page: "i'm not administrator, so dont ask something which cant be done :)".
YET, the point is no one really read that and still PM me on such topics or issues LOL
Arctic is technically a half-admin. he almost can access all the power to do his jobs such as gold penalty, block, create sticky topic, access in Announcement forum and many more.

you should be glad that you still have some mods hold their duty to keep the game far away from falling. they almost did all the thing (beside killing cheater which none of them have the right) to maintain the situation.
after all, some players just dont appreciate what mods had done and start the bashing and personal attack at that time. oh well, it was passed; i dont feel want to do the witch hunt now.

| Hmm... Old stories happen again. Let's not turn this thread into an old debate in between players and moderators/sages/keepers. Let's just clarify things in a nice "voice" for those who have ears to hear and to care less about those who don't want to hear the truth about those positions. |

the moderators play a big part of the site or forum.so bad moderation can lead to an unhealthy reputation of this site.
I think that a large reason for most of the problems concerning moderation developing is here.
well the idea of combining an online game for humans with a forum for humans is a funny combination.
so that's what we need CSIs and Sherrifs for.

Calumny is an offense which is not allowed in forum anymore. The fact that post still exists while it breaks the forum rules proves that the moderators are more than indulgent and let players a chance once more to see their true face.
Please, as I asked so many times in this forum, if you have any accusation with proofs, post it in the correct section of this forum. Otherwise, don't throw with words just to spoil the others discussions. |

well the idea of combining an online game with a forum is a funny
combination.as in it is potential for a lot of issues
most online games will only have a chat box for most. and that already generates a lot that needs to be dealt with properly.
I think that is a large reason for developing most of the problems
concerning moderation.
what a forum or chat box on a site needs is a way to keep it fresh fun
and keep everything in line. obviously a computer can't do all that so
they need a human brain to do the decision making. thats right a
working human brain. not the personality not the emotions not the
opinions just that little thing up there that can process information
and understand peoples actions. that is the only purpose of moderators.
if there was a way for all these task to be done automatically or by
some kind of hi-tech AI built into the forum and chat box. they would
do it and replace moderators with boterators or autoraters. moderators are a
simulation to this technology. so moderators should in a way kind of
consider themselves as staff or a part of the system or site. along with the same category as the admins but of course with lower authority levels.
they operate behind the scene.
moderators are just here to fill in for meanwhile the
boterators are still in development.
so moderators I think should be involved with forum of the game. but
not be actual players in the game. so basically if you're a forum
moderator you're only a forum moderator. the benefits of being separate
is you can be behind the scenes or a back stage kind of a person and
the reason for pang's fan club is well imagine the amount of death
threats an executioner without a mask would recieve so a system like
this would be a solution to that. |
next off this weeks new update on lwm television We have
the new tv show "who wants to be a moderator" starring pang as the host of the show. in which players audition and 17 players are selected for the show. and they go through the usual who "wants to be a millionaire" or "the Family Fued" style show in where they are quizzed on different scenarios and where if the player answers incorrectly they get cut off the show. until only 1 player is left and receives the position of moderator. lol |
