Game Problem - Please Fix - Exhausted Blacksmith of Might

AuthorGame Problem - Please Fix - Exhausted Blacksmith of Might
Hi

The Blacksmith of Might at the Ridge of Hope is only churing out 1 or 2 Sword's of Might every hour. This is about to go down to zero because of a lack of steel. This lack of steel will be an immediate chronic problem because of a production shortage of steel in the 3 Steelworks.

Now to be able to get a Sword of Might you need to
a. Have a quick trigger finger to purchase enough steel at the commencement of the enrolment period. As the steel sells out with a few seconds, good luck.
b. Sell the steel - easy enough.
c. Enrol and hope a few others do as well so at least one sword can be made - easy enough.
d. Have a very quick trigger finger to buy one of the very few swords produced before someone who didn't do any of this work or has any of this angst sneaks in and buys it before you.

Last night I tried to buy a sword several time when 3 or 4 were being produced per hour. Although I had the necessary resources and funds to purchase a sword I was unable to purchase the sword. They sold within seconds and I suspect the buyers soley intended them to resold at much inflated prices on the market. Sword of Might prices on the market for the very few available on the market are 4000 gold or greater above the factory price. As a result you have many people trying to buy from the factory who have absolutely no interest in using the sword.

So if extortion by abusing limited supply is not a good enough reason to fix this problem, then please do it due to the production shortages caused by the steel shortages.

If it wasn't mandatory to have minimum armor points this wouldn't be such a big deal. Unfortunately the minimum AP rule creates a level of demand that the current supply situation doesn't come close to matching.

Cheers
it's not game problem...
it's called free market...

It is also know as "click wars"
no problem, their is other swords, and SoM can be repaired

yes

a lot of players now is resseling the SoM at much higher price

i suspect they use some script to buy the sword becuase normal human(!) cant buy so quick

i hope this ends soon

Actually there were only 2 Steelworks before and steel production was too much.

This problem will resolve itself within a few months of no events/wars. Then players like you would complain about the mines lacking gold.

Precisely mate.

BTW,you can always rent from other players

I can tell you quite clearly there is no free market in Lordswm. Minimum AP rules, money launderers, secret cartels, unregulated monopolies, unrealistic supply and demand etc demonstrate there is no free market. Free marketeers (like myself) support competition, not the lack of it.

This problem will resolve itself within a few months of no events/wars.

Most times) there has been a shortage of a resource or a processed good, warehouses had to be manually restocked by the Lords of War and Money Powers that be. Crystals and Magic powder are two that immediately come to mind. As there is an ongoing shortage of Swords of Might that is/will be caused by a shortage of an essential component, the problem won't fix itself any time soon. One or two months is a ridiculous amount of time for a problem that may or may not (because some players WILL try to prevent a fix from happening) fix itself.

Then players like you would complain about the mines lacking gold.

What are you trying to suggest here Pantheon? If you are going to frown and finger wag, do it to the latte crowd. It's tribal, so people like you will fit right in.

If I see something relevant to the enjoyment of this game, whether it concerns me or others, then I will comment on it. People who mock and falsely assume they are a moral autority be damned!

Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself!

Cheers
for Ravensclaw:
There's plenty wrong with the economy, but you are looking at the least troublesome issue. I've spent much time offering and discussing various solutions, but the admins like the current system.

Wrong; that's only the current situation. Most times it's the other way around. Even after the AP update and the workaholic penalty facilities lacked gold and not resources/processed goods.

Most veteran players know about all the problems in the economy and deal with it.

In fact admins have been "fixing" the current temporary resource issue. There have been numerous refills in the last several weeks.

I'm not judging. I'm just stating the facts about the economy, the admins, and the numerous complaints that swing back and forth between lack of gold to lack of resource/arts in facilities.
Thank you for clearing up those things in your response Pantheon. I retract any words that may have caused offence.

There's plenty wrong with the economy
Yes, agreed.

you are looking at the least troublesome issue

I am not sure about that. This will be an ongoing problem. The steel shortage is also causing potentially problems in other factories. People can't enrol in some factories because there is not enough steel. When stock levels drop there, those items will have the same problem as the Sword of Might. Combat is another issue. Without Sword's of Might, "might is right" players will be at a relative disadvantage in combat against defence or magic players.

I would normally see this as a medium level issue except for the fact that without intervention other goods will be affected, and that no market solution is in sight.

I've spent much time offering and discussing various solutions

As have I. Rings of Inspiration and Illegal scripts come to mind as topics I have created. When you have been mocked and baited (and then falsely reported)as I have been, you feel less inclined to continue trying to improve a game you enjoy.

Most veteran players know about all the problems in the economy and deal with it.

Obviously I will have no choice but to deal with it until something happens.

I'm not judging.

Thank you.

I have been off doing other things for over a month and I was unaware about that.

and once that happens, people will start enrolling in the steel works factory, therefore leading to an increase in steel.
oh i keep trying for about 1 month and today in morning i was able to get it. I got a workaholic penalty but at the eleventh hour i was lucky to buy the sword :)

i had seen some players who had repaired SoM so many times that the durability of SoM got [35/39] which is really sad
I request that please bring sufficient SoM in production

The Steel Works usually has full employment already even when there are only 400-500 people online. So production is at or very close to its capacity.

The refills were of only medium size. ~10k+ resources each time. I'm not exactly sure since I don't catch all the refills and sometimes when I do, it's mostly gone already. Part of the problem is that resellers and veteran players know that refill isn't enough to immediately stop the shortage so they purposely buy all they can (more than they need at that current time). This of course only makes the shortage worse off. And since the players know that, they buy even more. And thus it's a vicious cycle.

This part is because players like myself keep those facilities running.

If no events/wars happen, in a few months the factories would stop running due to lack of gold and not lack of resources. The economy is this chain that basically only moves forward when people buy arts. If people don't need arts, then the mines run out of gold as everyone enroll in the mines and no one buys resources or arts.

Admins do manually adjustments and refills to the current system to help alleviate the problems that happen during events/wars and during the down times. It is a bad system because the economy is never stable or balanced.
However i totally agree that lack of wood/ore and steel/nickel is only question of demand and offer (that's called economy). Also buying sword of might at facility price and selling on higher is only trading business.

I found it also strange that before workshift ended at facility 21:29 (SoM) there was some demand for resources while about 20+ emloyees were assinged and at 21:30 when i got page refreshed all the swords were gone and resources were also filled immediately in 1 sec.

Maybe more people are interested in this business, but it smells someone using illegal scripts....

My connection is quite fast, but still had no chance to buy a sword pfff....
