I wanted to ask, in Dark Elves troops, their Lizard cavalry has Lizard Charge ability, but I dont know how to do that, is there a special way to activate that or does it happen randomly?
Also, what does rage mean, I've seen lets say Zombies get enraged, what does that mean?
Also, Ogres, knowback hit, does it come randomly or can it be activated? |
The special abilities are on this page:
https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=32
Lizard Charge happens automatically based upon movement.
Rage increases attack.
Knockback is activated randomly upon each attack. |
Although knockback is random, the probability of a knockback changes. You can see the formula in the link that Pantheon gave. |
http://www.lordswm.org/strony/eng/tutorials/021-units_abilities.php
its on construction but it is infrmative |
Thank you for your help!
Another question, Necromancer ability to have Skeletons in "reserve" that you get from fights, should I just recruit all of them right away or keep them in reserve for later? What is best to do there? |
Normally you should use your max reserve since in the long run you should be getting more than enough. |
can someone tell me about fiends movement? |
I am pretty sure they have "leap"
# Leap:
α Activated special ability.
This creature can attack any hostile creature within the interval [2; 2*Speed] tiles, ignoring obstacles, dealing 10% extra damage per tile leapt this way. If the target retaliates, it will deal 200% damage on retaliation. |
Again the Necromancer thing with Skeletons... The reserve, when I recruit them, do they stay after next battle or if they die they dont come back, I get new ones in next hunts? How does that work actually? |
Reserve skeletons die first, then do ordinary ones.
If you do a duel or group battle, you lose all skeletons. In hunts or merc quest you only lose 25% of the dead skeletons. But if you raise them back fully before the end of battle you won't lose any at all. |
I think it's better to give an example...
Eg. Normal max skeleton recruitment is 40. With faction level 3 you can have 25 more. So into battle you bring a total of 65 skeletons.
Only the number of skeletons left standing at the end of battle matters.
If you're left with 40, it means all reserves died. You lose 25 skeletons from your reserves if it is a duel or group battle, 25% of that in hunt/MQ.
If you're left with 50, it means 15 reserves died. You lose 15 skeletons from your reserves if it is a duel or group battle, 25% of that in hunt/MQ.
If you're left with 0, obviously all reserves died. And you lose 25 skeletons from your reserves if it is a duel or group battle, 25% of that in hunt/MQ. |
Thank you! I understand now :)
Next question, I noticed couple times Elves have the ability to hit multiple enemies with their hero, so with arrows, I can not find where I can have that too? Might be a talent? What do I need to choose to have that? |
that talent call's rain of arrows, if you have that talent in any battle your hero can shoot all choosed favoued enemy in the battlefield, answer to your next question how to use it, simple in battlefield press spellbook and there you will see rain of arrows talent and press it hero will automatically shoot. |
Thank you!
To continue up on the special abilities theme, I wanted to ask in general what do the factions have thats unique? From my little experience I noticed:
Necromancer
-can raise dead
-their skeletons count can be extreme due to reserves
-they dont have morale?
Elves
-they have favoured enemy feature
-they have overall higher initiave?
Dark Elves
-they are the only ones that have hit and run option?
-what else?
Barbarians
-stunning hit by their hero, I think they are the only ones that have that?
-their recruit numbers are much higher then other factions I think?
Demons
-they can gate creatures from Hell
-what else?
Please correct me and add couple more just so I know :)
Also, I was adviced not to change factions cause it is waste of gold (buildings needs to be built again), but I saw lots of people switching back and forth? |
As a curious mind you should have a good read in the about the game section. https://www.lordswm.com/help.php lots of useful information there
You should especially look at this section
https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=38
and a little bit here
https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=8
also if you are curious about talents and the like you can either look here (game link)
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1834332 demo wheels with clickable links
or look on my favourite off game site, witchhammer. Lots of other very useful stuff here too

Get reading = ) |
necromancr arent the only faction that can raise wizards and elves can too at lvl8
elves get +3 initiative at lvl 1 and so there troops have high ini
dark elves have piercing magic which means that depending on their racial ability they can do damage even if a creature has a magic shield
barbs have the magic shield ability which means that spells do less damage
they have a good recruit count but i wouldnt say it was the highest knight is probably higher
knights have the ability to buy a castle upgrade which means they get more troops with a higher racial plus recruits(upgrade farmer) give more troops |
-they dont have morale?
Indeed.
-they have overall higher initiave?
Yes, definately... But lack resilience as a side effect.
elves get +3 initiative
+3% ini, which is definately not the same...
-stunning hit by their hero, I think they are the only ones that have that?
Indeed. Later on, their hero damages any uniot in a square around their target. That's meant to be a compensation for being unable to use any kind of magic.
-their recruit numbers are much higher then other factions I think?
Higher recruit number, but weaker troops (less resilient), with very high damage.
As for wizzard, they can equip mini artifacts on each of their stacks, enhancing the different parameters of their troops. They also get higher damage for their spells against units not controled by a hero (hunt, merc quest). |
Elven Lord, thank you for the links, that helps alot :) I did some reading before, but I rather just learn the game as I go, I rather ask questions to players directly, and learn from my mistakes. I like this game cause you're able to reset mostly everything if you did it wrong :) so I cant go wrong anyways, I will just fix it :) I didnt have inspiration to read those huge texts, so I rather learn as I go hehe :)
This way I find out what I need and I have the possibility to get friends and annoy them with letters if I need any more information :) Slust thanx :) |
