Once the Americans turned thier factories and economy to "war-time" we crancked out WAY more tanks, bombers, planes etc then Germany could have hoped to keep up with. WE suplied European nations with planes and bombers and fresh troops to overpower the germans. We did all of this WHILE putting an ass whooping on the Japanese in the Pacific. Why shouldn't we be full of our selves when we were fighting a war on two fronts AND still winning? pls explain your logic a little more. |
@slayerofall
i LOVE that post man. As true as you can get. |

Russia killed 8 times as many Germans as the Allies did. How can you claim US involvement was critical when they did less than 10% of the killing?
let me pop in here. Where DID you get their numbers? And even so, if you killed 8 times the number of germans, japan was still a MAJOR Threat. And since we wooped their ass in the Pacific that means we killed about 800 times the amount of Japanese yall did. And where did i get MY numbers?? Thats a good question. Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, was the head of the entire Pacific fleet and entire Pacific War. Any island that you can name in the pacific ocean that was inhabited by hostile Japanese, was crushed under his command. And last time i checked 800 to 1 is better the 8 to 1.
Any Questions?? |
Yes. How an you be so deluded?
"WE suplied European nations with planes and bombers and fresh troops to overpower the germans."
Not for free. You made sure you got paid in coin. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/6215847.stm

A quote from Admiral Yamamoto "In the first six to twelve months of a war with the United States and Great Britain I will run wild and win victory upon victory. But then, if the war continues after that, I have no expectation of success."
Statement to Japanese cabinet minister Shigeharu Matsumoto and Japanese prime minister Fumimaro Konoe
A man from a race as proud as the Japanese, at that point admitting defeat was certain. I think that shows the lack of threat that Japan was. I've also given references. Can you show me your 800-1 reference. I have already given piles of evidence regarding Russia defeating Germany. Also, I'm Australian, not Russian. America and Britain are my country's historical allies. I acknowledge Russia did the heavy lifting, and my position is much less biased than yours.
Not much more to add but... Debate Fail. |
Barbarian-Fishy, I agree with you. According to all I have read about WWII, your points are closest to the situation then. |
The planet niburu or nebiru or whatever...is this real?i remember i saw this thing in newspaper, and it says this planet will crash the earth, this planet is the size of moon or bigger |
Epic thread! But far from its glory days. I miss Modi... |

I don't see why you all have to argue about a war that took place so long ago. Half of the stuff that happened can be based on numbers, but the rest is impossible to understand. You act as though the people who actually FOUGHT the war had no emotions, no psyichal limitations, like it was robots with neverending fuel - fighting. I'm just saying that the things you see in war, aren't as black and white as you make it out to be. Pysche. We don't know what it means to kill another human being. Not everyone in the army are made to kill, they're just told to.
As Voltaire once said "It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets"
War isn't as simple as numbers. So don't argue about something you don't truly understand. |
Grixomas, of course war isn't just about numbers, there are individual people. But when you are talking about the contributions of entire countries, then numbers matter.
Just because we are discussing the war, just because every post doesn't talk about "The horror, the horror", doesn't mean we didn't know the horrors of war existed. The suffering and destruction caused to 2 entire generations due to WWI and WWII is horrifyingly bad, and no-one leading a pampered lifestyle in a 1st world country can begin to comprehend it. |
True. I may live in the United states, but I take nothing I have for granted. |
You haven't tried to counter the numbers I've provided. Russia killed 8 times as many Germans as the Allies did. How can you claim US involvement was critical when they did less than 10% of the killing?
Russian army and population would have starved without massive food supplies from America.
The western part of Russia that was occupied by Germans within months of the start of the war accounted for 3/4 of Russia's food production.
The war would have been over by the end of 1941 if America was not involved.
I am not saying that America won the war, nor that Russia didn't play a major role.
But I am saying that both Russia and America played major roles and neither could have won without the other. |
Well.... I've been looking at forum posts to get an idea of the game as a relative newcomer and this one is amazing! I confess that I forgot what was on the TV reading back at the posts here. Such a debate on a browser game is totally off my screen. I just have to say that I have never seen anything like this in four years of playing various games. I was, well, stunned at the arguments put forward and the wisdom of all protagonists
It just goes to show that behind a fun exterior lies a human being. I read back to about the 18th page and just want to say that I like very much that people are allowed to speak out for what they believe, I am left feeling that I am in august company here. Long live debate! |
Food supplies? I was looking for a number of deaths by starvation in Russia stat. I didn't find it, but this article is well written, by Americans, and says what I've been trying to say ,much better than I could.

HELLOO! !! 21 may is over.
this thread is ought to be closed |
Food supplies?
Foolish young men think war is about killing the opposing soldiers.
People who've been through a war know that war is about food and disease behind the front lines.
Look at Vietnam for example. Why did America loose that war?
One could say it was because they weren't able to cut off food supply lines.
China was able to easily supply North Vietnam. If at any point America were able to close the northern border for a few months, the war would probably turn in favor of US and the south.
Food supplies and disease have been the root cause of victory of any war that lasted more than a year. |
Flour,
yeah yeah, war was going and going and only when congress decided to not sent any soldiers or weapons, 1 million of south Vietnamese were easyly overcomed on their own land by 200 000 north Vietnamese. So, no, your example is pathetic. |
Maybe this game should be renamed "Lords of Food Supplies, Disease and Money" eheh
Just kidding - i agree with Flour |
Vietnam was a guerilla war and that's why you lost. A guerilla war can not be won by force of arms (unless you are wlling to kill every man, woman and child in the country). I am not advocating that as a good option, just stating a fact.
To win a guerilla war, I know it sounds trite, but you need to win hearts and minds. You need to convince the people that your way is better than the alternative. If you can't do that, you kill one guerilla fighter, you get 2 more as his sister and brother hate you enough to become a guerilla fighter. It's never ending.
In Vietnam, the Americans were compromised as they supported a hated leader. Also, any educated Vietnamese kney the Americans cared little about the country. The American elite responsible for sending the troops, were just frightenend if enough countries went communist and set an example, then maybe the Americans would have a revolution and kick out their fat cats from their prviliged positions. |
