it is legal to send someone a mail to buy something but avoid spamming mail until the whole page is your mail, then you will get penalty.

Man i don't understand you, you are asking how to do away with more illegal actions why not just stop and don't worry i don't think most people would object even if you send them 3-4 PMs. Also just saying in a mail that i have say a wooden sword full durability and for 440 gold is not at least not what i consider spam.

Helps people from reporting you.. time after time.
Helps you because you lose more money at penaltys then acctually sell stuff..

re #18 - ah! I misunderstood your post. I thought you were sending PMs in response to peoples threads in trade forums (which is legal and pretty common).
As was said in thread you posted link to. If you send unsolicited mails to people just because you see they have an art (or had one on the market at one time) then if they report you there is a good chance you will receive a penalty. This is why we have trade forums. If you want to buy something then create a thread there with details of what you want and price you will pay rather than write to random people. |

Personally I would not report someone for a single mail but can't answer for anyone else. However I would also be very unlikely to buy anything from an unsolicited mail.
I guess it would all depend on the person and whether they were actually looking to buy what you want to sell. Once again I would think mailing random people would probably not be a good idea but I have no idea what "insults" would think of it.
If you send someone a mail in response to their trade forum thread then I would think this would be okay.
