Authorresistance compared tp defence
how much does resistance really mean?
for example, if someone has 15% resistance against my faction, how many defence parameters is it worth of?
They are very different things. I don't remember exactly how much % each def point is (I think it is +5% per point). But resistence is a kind of def that applies to all things, it decreases not only meele/range damage (like def), but it decreases magic attacks, and even the hero damage. And the best thing, resistance can't be disrupted like def. :)
you will compete against the attack parameter if you talking about defense..There are 2 formulas to calculate the damage..if attack higher than defense, one formula, vise versa

Resistance is different thing..After the sum up and minus of final damage, then it reduce certain % again..1 faction level = 3% resist, resist reduce ANY type of damages

and also , this resist thing only worked on battle which your opponent has a hero
I see, thanks guys :)
i wanted to know about how big of a deal is 15% resistance? is it REALLY a lot?
If a creature actually does 100 damage then you will get 75 damage.

is it REALLY a lot?

Depends on the circumstances and type of fights. You can not absolutely measure it. It is relative. :)
If 100 of those creature attack then instead of 10,000 damage they will only do 7,500 and 2,500 IS a big amount of damage not to get hit with.

But ... in a close fight just a little less damage taken can be the difference between winning or losing.
If a creature actually does 100 damage then you will get 75 damage.
u confused me now :P shouldnt it be 85 dmg?
for DEATHisNEAR:
do you think having 3 resistance is MUCH worse than 5? i.e. 9% compared to 15%?
i mean i get that 100:94 idea, but is it practically that significant?
#8 lol that is another simple sounding question which has so many right answers.

My 'best' answer (well after 20s thought) is, How often have you lost a fight by a small amount? Would that couple of % less damage done to you have won it? or maybe if they had a couple of % less resistamce?

Of course having more levels in the faction you are playing also give you other benefits (Att, Def, Ini). But then also consider the difference between faction level 11 to 12 is very large relatively so you could add a lot of resistence to other factions with little impact on your main. This arguement only get truer the higher level you are.

So at lower levels it is better having a strong main but at higher levels the extra resistance can give you more advantage than adding to your main(s) fsp total.

The problem is that at higher levels the cost of building other factions is that much higher because you need to build more and more castle constructions to be able to initiate a combat. Also at higher levels you will no doubt do more PvP as your PvE battles become increasingly hard and once again you need more constructions in your castle.

So faction restance is very important bur you need to decide what level you wish to build it to, maybe 5 or 7 or ...? And also what stage in your journey through the combat levels you want to do it.

Someone also said it makes more difference in your wins if you concentrate on factions your main is closely matched with. e.g. you will win more fights than v's factions you can almost never beat as even with resistance you are more likely to lose anyway.

*sorry for any typos, been uaing phone all day ;]
Thanks a lot DiN for a well-thought reply :D
what i dont understand is there are a bunch of people with 4 fsl vs all factions who win many MT's but so many with 3 fsl dont!
i cant make sense as to why would just 3% make such a significant difference :O
