And what would you have answered then ?
I mean its not necessary that you would answer that I would ask what if water was black ? Why would have you chosen black as well then ?

What does it matter if it's blue or black?
4/5 times I get non English speaking players with weird built & settlement
I wonder why so many Russians here don't speak English
can someone explain?
English is not their main language, nor for us Indians either but idk why its considered more over Hindi.
Such scenario doesn't exists in Russia or many other countries.. they stick to their native language :P

It's the mentality of quite a few countries of "Why should we learn their language? We have our own."
Perhaps ironically, it is also the mentality of a lot of people who were born in the USA / UK.
1 language is more than enough for a unified and the most perpetually progressing civilization..that's the viewpoint of many physicists today, at least..

now the problem we run into with this model in this day and age is
that all languages have cultures and traditions associated to them which are important to preserve too
Lets just get a completely new language and burn the rest of them xD
Like completely destroy them somehow even from minds of people :P

Such mentality should be encourage IMO.
Why adapt to other foreign language? should stick to one's own and stay united.

This topic is quite debatable.
Why adapt to other foreign language? should stick to one's own and stay united.

For many good reasons:

International co-operation, research, broadening your viewpoint in life, travelling, being able to effectively communicate with people in other countries (and on forums), learning another language is good for your brain too, not limiting your options when it comes to migration.

I think the problem is about culture, and it's about hard-headed people who aren't willing to learn other languages, and how do you decide which language everyone should learn?

If you stick to just one, you aren't really trying for unity :p

Besides, I think that no language is perfect. It is after all created by people and modified over many centuries under the influence of culture and many such things. Maybe i am wrong as i only know 4 languages, but what i'm trying to say is that there are some expressions unique to one language which maybe absent in another..

Even our thought process requires a language and perhaps learning new languages can help provide our brain with more tools to contemplate things which may not be inclusive to a language. What Meshy says is true, but i just wanted to add that when you master multiple languages, surely in some way your brain becomes more capable at thinking despite our ability to communicate.
I think for Russians it has a lot to do with U.S.S.R - U.S.A relations back then.
how do you decide which language everyone should learn?
Make a new one xD
I am myself really interested in learning more languages. Don't have much of a reason behind it. It's just nice to show off xD
If you make a new one, it will be based on another language. How do you decide what it's based On?
There are already many artificial languages without necessarily a strong basis on any "real" language

JRR Tolkien was a language Professor at Oxford and invented languages, a lot of this came prior to his literative works which were to create a mythology around his invented languages. Similarly I believe Klingon is a functional language as well. No doubt there are more besides this.

Mostly however economics and practicality dominated preference for other languages, people have the motivation to learn a language when it will be useful - either through practical reasons (eg watching films in the native language, or because there are a lot of people who speak that language nearby, eg Spanish as second most dominant language in USA) or else to get a job (perhaps a significant reason for English being learnt in India)
I believe there are still linked to other languages.
