Winter is already far behind, and its fierce cold has long since been pushed from memory by the warm sunny spring days. But beyond the boundaries of the Empire, in the damp and gloomy robber lairs, the memory of those days and of that painful rout was still alive, which almost denounced the local inhabitants to a hungry and cold death. Unfortunately, getting rid of parasites is far from easy. Having managed to get hold of some supplies, the robbers could survive the winter and even regain strength, replenishing their ranks with an even larger number of hardened thugs. And the other in their place, perhaps, would have made from the defeat the conclusions, but the thirst for revenge overshadowed the mind more than even the desire for easy gain. So the new raid on the imperial settlements was only a matter of time. And judging by the urgent reports of the sentinel, he was no longer prepared for thorough preparation.

Heroes, the settlements of the Empire are again being raided by bands of bandits - and their inhabitants urgently need protection! Voevoda Grammit calls on everyone not to stand by and help in the defense of the villages. It is necessary to save as many lives and supplies as possible.




Rules:
1) All Heroes from the 5th combat level in the artifacts from the store are allowed to participate, modifiers do not work;
2) The initial population of the village is 1000 for each Hero;
3) When protecting the village in battle, the Hero will be joined by civilians in the amount of 10% of the total population;
4) The bouts take place in the format 1 on 1;
5) After the battle, every 10 surviving villagers get a resource unit, and each surviving house increases the population by 30 people;
6) The resource can be repaired at home, build and repair towers, improve the damage and strength of towers, add new capabilities to the towers;
7) The cost of repairing the house is 10 resources, and the cost of repairing the tower is 20 resources;
8) For each day, you can hold 12 battles with the enemy, unsettled attempts are carried over the next day. In total, you can spend no more than 72 fights. The last day to complete the battles on May 1 inclusive;
9) For the victory you can get artifacts of creatures, artifacts from the store, and at the end of the defenses - also gold;
10) The potion of the faction functions in full;
11) For the first 15 won battles the village elder will reward Heroes with the Hunter's Ax, and for 40 won battles will present the Obereg artifact.





Advice:
Think about how to locate towers from the very beginning, for example, if you place them on the first line, they will often be broken, and if you place them further away from the enemy, they will cause less damage because of the long distance. Try to advance the army forward to protect civilians.

Players with the largest population after the end of all fights will be generously rewarded by the Empire!

10) The potion of the faction functions in full;
I imagine it will dynamically balance like others of this type. The win ratio is likely to be very similar for all. Therefore accept you will lose a certain percentage and adjust how you do it because they will be insane, but it will average our broadly speaking. Go for the cheap full art set for your level. After a bit you could detect when you will be close to losing and step it up to full art set for the one that will be borderline. The one after this will almost be a guaranteed loss so may as well step down to the cheapest set they let you use.

This is what I will be doing anyway. Whether it works or not will be determined at the end!
What are peoples thoughts re towers and their placement. I seem to recall last time of wishing I had gone for a wall type tactic by linking towers in between two buildings and so delay them getting to troops behind. May be really useful for shooter factions or tamer DE and harpies.

cheap full set used (rings of thorns, obsidian sword etc)

I am wondering whether I should have upgraded the first tower and made it good before getting a second. Third tower is 550 - though for the same gold you can effectvely double the damage of your first tower (no range penalty, ad they are usually at range) then for 600 double it again (double shot).

To me therefore there is no significant sense to add a third tower till your first two have no range penalty and double damage. Of course if you just use them to hide behind that works, but so far all fights I have had, have had a lot of shooting troops.
acctualy what kind of builds they are giving to fight against? shooters?
Any idea which factions are better or have advantage over others in these battles?

Didn't spend anything on towers, played with minimum available forces, no upgrades.(used similar tactics in the Pirate quest).
Used high end artifacts 9/12 wins with wizard.
