Try getting a stack of priests instead of guardians (or both) to both soak up first shots and cast evasion to reduce shooter damage.

I think this build in general is good only early on. When cost of sphynx skyrockets it's a waste of crystals.

The thing with that strategy is all your eggs are in one basket, you are relying on one stack to deliver victory. This will be inconsistent. I personally prefer multiple threats as is more flexible. This you have in your second battle
