Author5th Team blindfold tournament plus
There is a "chase the tribal" algorithm but into the AI. If you are the only tribal, they gang up on you. If there are two tribals, they gang on the stronger one.
for -BayerN-:
cast, kill some unimportant troop. probably put horses between some troops so they cant break free.
anyone have 100 points already?
Excuse me, but this Tournament is totally dependent on RNG...

It's sad, because I have been waiting for this Tourney a couple of years, or so.
I had fun at some moments, but others... Meh.

I cant deny I did mistakes sometimes, but there is NO WAY that 4 of 5 enemies Focus you, even without touching many of them.
They'd still Focus you, even if someone is hitting them right on their face.
Geez Wtf :///

I wont feel bad for getting a Medal, coz its totally RNG dependent.
yes just got 100 but the bootd not availble yet
for Issy404:
latviesu lords means 100 points in tournament, i.e., 20 out 20 wins and not 100 boot parts :)
Getting hard to play as Tribal, usually the first to be focused.

Yeah, all those skilled guys who got gold and silver only managed it because they were lucky.. none of them had to think strategically or play well. Screw those guys who spent hours doing battles and concentrating, they only won because admins wanted them to.

Maybe if you played well, understood your moves and how the AI thinks you would have done better.
yeah all depends from your setup and being able to predict AI.
i have won 13 in row while being new lvl10 with very average guilds.
won 8/9 as lvl9,lost first battle cause it was my fault.
228# Okay, I get the point... Not hard to notice the Sarcasm.

At least I think "RNG/Randomness" (Whatever you wanna call it, honestly) is more relevant in this Tournament, than say in a Minor Tournament.
Since the "external factor" (that doesnt depend on you), is clearly bigger.

Whatever, I wanna see the results in a week, and see which Factions did better.
Might throw some light about the whole "Meta" in Eofo.
Just check the last EOFO, not much changed in reguards to balance, besides dark barb and unholy rework + spirit nerf (well tribal will probably suffer more than dark barb here).

Just because a handful of factions did awesome in this event doesn't mean it's down to RNG or whatever. Some factions are better at things than others. It's how this game works.

I'm sure if you're around for an MT, you'll also say how it's the RNG's fault because it kept putting you against people with higher guilds and better strategy and more suited factions..

It's not an event but a tournament and tournaments do suppose in my view a relative balance of factions one against another, which is why spirit has been nerfed compared to last EOFO. When there is no intended balance then the ranking is different for every faction. But here, "relative balance" is very relative indeed.

I think the problem of the tournament is two fold, on the one hand the AI ignores def builds, so whoever has the most DEF can just press DEF until all AI are done and finish wathever's left. The other problem is that the tournament only looks at the last man standing, doesn't matter if he contributed nothing to the fight but just sat in his corner. Something like a lightning tower like in ST but who targets the player who killed the less might shake things up, or rank according to whoever killed the most (we already get exp based on that so the code already knows it), or simply use AI as fillers when it can not fill 6 player teams, there's no way humans would ignore the shamans building mana and spirit or ignore the barbarian sitting in his corner and transporting troops to not trigger waywardness.
While I agree in principle that those that have done well deserve it I do not think it is the fairest of formats. Since it does favour a more narrow range of factions than any other it does give some an distinct advantage over others. While in principle you can switch to a faction which matches it, this is only if you have the castles, though then may put you at a stat disadvantage even with PoS.

As a consequence some factions/builds may be used, not because they are the best to use ideally, but because they are the best that are available in practice. Some of these builds are more RNG in nature. Mage builds in my experience are like that where the chaos casters will favour targetting them (a defensive build will naturally be low down on a casters priority list since it ignores defence).

Chaos AI casters will prioritise based on whom they can wipe out quickest and therefore finish ahead of, yet the first strike when initially defending is more or less random. So if there are 3 chaos casters, you being one, and one opposition zaps you, then often so will the other. As a result you often need to get in with zapping them first, in which case they will tend to get back at you.

In comparison when I payed a pure might build the AI was much mroe consistent and easy to read and play off each other. The remaining variable was making sure you stayed ahead of your human

Lets add in that the tournament is very grindy and time intensive such that a number of people postng here (of which I am one) used auto a lot. In this we made it comparatively easy for our other human opponent to win, reducing the real challenge of those to get golds to those with the right castles built and the time and patience to grind it all out to the end.

Don;t get me wrong I enjoyed it and the tactics of it, but I would not say it was a particularly effective way of significantly separating out those who are the best.

On a number of occassions I saw a tribal win with around 4FSP because basically they just stayed at the bottom of the AI priority list and avoided trouble till everyone was weak enough that they could finish them off. Effective but frankly I was happier coming second and at least doing something and enjoying myself.
^ Awesomely described the situation, Imho.

85 points from 20 battles.
Managed a Silver but I think I could've managed to get a Gold if I hadn't messed up a battle or two :(
should i go for 100 points or just mirror last battle?
Battle count: 20+ (19) Points: 95
