All are decent to begin with, I'd suggest tribal though because it is good end game

At least that is what I did last time around after I reaslied they plateau rather once the numbers increase a bit!
Does anyone know if there is any guide on the priorities of the ai stacks? The first thing (ok, my rocs moved first...) that happened in my last battle was that a stack of 2 tengu chose to attack 60 civilians. I simply didn't see it coming.

dwarves are a pain for that sort of thing. I lost some peasants to griffins soaring down as well.

Also need to look out for liches.

I think it comes down to the fact that they cannot really damage your main troops very much, so kill the peasants for no retal.

I am considering delaying buying a tower to lower the risk of having to pay to repair it when I can win without it.

Tribal opponent is a huge joke.

Necro with a stacks of 20 death proclaimers, 15 dragons and 90 poltergeist with 150 mana was very oppressive.
Some very tough fights, this is probably my hardest so far. No hope for a win.

I'm trying to let them kill off my population now and then to reduce difficulty but they never hit them and keep hitting my troops instead, what gives? The only hits they made on the peasants was with their crystal dragons luck hit and mass decay.

If I recall it requires 10 resources to rebuild a house. As such you would have to have less than 300 population to not be able to rebuild all 3, which I would imagine you would have to work hard to get to. Of course you only need 100 population to rebuild one. I cannot imagine anyone being able to get it as low as that.

Sadly, no. Neither towers nor houses can receive spell benefits.

im not seeing much difficulty, so it has led me to question if the difficulty rises when you buy a tower?
It doesn't make sense to link difficulty with tower.

You get steady increase of population after each battle
You also get resource gain, with increasing rate of gain after each battle

These two in my opinion should be linked to difficulty and not tower.

I suppose the logic is similar to that of cannons in pirate event. You get a tower, therefore you are stronger so your enemy gets stronger to compensate.

Pirates difficulty is also a function of your ship level. A minimum on a higher ship stills end up bringing harder enemies than maximum on previous.
