We are basing out perspectives on a limited list of 100 best. Those 100 "best" indeed is highly skewed. This is in no small part down to the fact that for those low levels the absence of certain creature types meant that there were no opportunities for early undefendable hits on peasant numbers or buildings (gliding griffins, liches or invokers for example)

As such they could get near perfect scores and max out the top 100.

There is a however a group of people who did very well, and got 72 from 72 wins, but being at a higher level and the presence of critical creature types, could not avoid losing a certain amount of peasants.

For example Grif won 72/72 and got a population of 5993 at CL16. Not enough for the skewed top 100, but enough for me at least to think that there is a route through.

I am however an optimist, if someone has achieved something then it is possible. Whether it is hard or easy is immaterial, the fact that it is possible means I think one should strive to achieve it.

Perhaps the low levels were also alternate accounts made by more experienced players. It's unlikely that an actual level 6 new player can do so well (as opposed to a level 16+ playing on a level 6).

Admins might have rebalanced event as well and made fights more difficult for lower levels too. I don't think they wanted the standings to turn out as they did.
It has almost always been the case that low levels get higher rank in events like this one, because the talents and primal stats of AI makes all the difference, the lower the level the less the stats and just 1 or maybe 2 AI talents, so an easy ride.
I guess if events were rebalanced to be harder for veteran players on low level accounts it would then be unfair for the actual low levels. So low levels winning events may not change.
i would probably reccomend not to rush with building new towers at first day. i have 2 towers and not on rush to build 3rd
This event does not want my peasants to live. Easy battles, but they just will not leave them alone. Keep losing my tower as well.

PArt of this was bad luck, managed to miss apparitions 6 times in a row with ogres (which would virtually one hit them if they could connect)

Admins. If you are reading this, please consider this. I see that chaos enemies do not appear, and rightfully so. Then why THE HELL does nature unholly appear??? ITS SO STUPID
I am going to modify my previous suggestion for upgrade order.

DO NOT put any points into Damage until very late in the event.

Here is why:

Towers start with base 50 attack, non-dependent on hero stats.

Each damage upgrade raises the base attack by 1.

So it is a very small, very incremental boost, which doesn't help a whole lot compared to the value of the silver in the beginning when you don't have much.

Later on, when you're raking in coin, then upgrade the Damage parameter.

If I remember from last time, getting knocking shot actually lowers init of the tower, someone may have to check that

Now I have 2 Towers. One has Knocking Shot, the other does not. Both have an initiative of 10.
It almost feels like I would have got a higher score without towers. Most of the time they just get killed.
My tower deals more damage than my troops. I made it to endurance 15 and damage 20 then started building second tower.

Damage also increase the attack paarmater by 1 as well as hit ratio min/max +2

you can see why low levels do better in this event. the lower the level the more powerful the towers are
So basically as a level 5 you can just sit and let the towers take them out, great going admins.
I find this settlement events to be a bit... "meh".
Lacks something, though I can't pinpoint exactly what it is.
