y i reseted my talent points.ty for the quick answer |
I need help.
Any idea for me to fight Vanguard Of DE (3)
How to settle the settlement ?
N atk shrews 1st or poisoners ? |
Always kill the ranged units first in vanguard. Block the shrews and kill them second. Just make sure the poisoners die before they can fire or they will end the battle quickly. |
302:
I would suggest you kill shrews first on Vanguard of DE (3) and use your magi to do dispersion on grandmaster bowmen to remove the poison from poisoners ( initiative helps a lot since magi play just after poisoners ). Do not use magi to cast magic punch in this fight, use them in stacks of 1-2 to dispel poisons and then block hydra stack with them. |
Hi guys and girls!
i was reading thistopic from the start and i think it is the best soulition that when u sell your mini-arts u get full refund for it so u don't lose money on that u just need to buy better...
what do u mean?(please don't be angry or somethink like that i just ask...) |
I don't know... Then people would be chopping and changing all the time to suit different battles etc. |

yeah u right... |
I was hoping to purchase a full set of arts for thieving, I was looking to focus on Spell Power and Defense, my list of proposed arts is as follows,
Combat Staff, Wizard Cap, Medal of Bravery, Hauberk, Cape of Spirits, Defender Shield, Shoes of Aspiration and 2 Rings of Inspiration.
The total cost for this proposed set of arts is 48k, I was hoping someone with thieving would be able to help me out, make possible changes to what Arts I should buy (I have a 60k Budget), Should I be focusing on defense and spell power?, Or something completely different?. Any comments would be well appreciated :)
Thanks in advance,

Amulet of Luck might be a better choice than Medal of Bravery, since luck can affect all of a Wizards creatures, while golems (your melee damage dealer) and gargs (your most important unit) will not be helped by your morale focus.
Also, if you have the patience to sit and save for a while, prophets rings would also be more useful for the same reason. They would add two spell power to your total - a very important change.
On the other hand, trading the defender shield for the lvl 7 dragon shield would also make a large difference for you. It would give you an extra point in defense (your main focus) and a point in attack also, an area where your art set would be sadly lacking.
Lastly, the wizard helmet would be vastly superior to the wizards cap. It adds the same spell power point, but it also adds two to your defense and lasts longer - two major issues.
Just a few thoughts, and though all of them together would put you way over your budget, perhaps one or two of them would prove useful. |
#308,
Check out my arts in my profile. I think this is the minimum requirement for us Wizards. With this combination, I can have slightly more than 50% success rate in my thief outing. Anything less (I tried swapping with cheaper arts like defender shield and +1 spell point cloak), I lost a lot of combats.
The rings of inspiration is really not much use. Most likely your genie and magi are going to benefit from the rings but they die way too early before they can enjoy +1 morale. I tried with 2 rings of inspiration too. Not useful at all.
Wizard attire, wizard helmet and dragon shield are helpful. If you have elements, try enchanting your cloak or rings. Then your heroes' spell will inflict higher damage.
By the way, your budget is too little for full arts. |

Medal of Bravery, Shoes of aspiration and the morale rings are completely useless. Combat staff is also not very good, 1 attack and 1 spellpower is not gonna change the outcome. I would suggest you go on a more melee-based configuration using for example the following things:
Sword of Might, Defender Shield, Hauberk or Steel Cuirass ( note that steel cuirass is not really a lot more expensive than hauberk per durability point, and gives one more defense ) and use Wizard Cap and Cloak of spirits for extra spellpower. Also amulet of luck can help a lot and is very cheap. With those artifacts you will be more than fine on 80% of the caravans till TG2.
If you rent TGI and want to return it fast then you need full gear but otherwise you can use as many arts as you want, the difference will be a few more days to reach TG2 ( since every time you lose the specific caravan will become easier and every time you win it will become harder - if you spend enough time and get some losses you can reach TG2 without many artifacts )
If however you want to be serious with Thieving you need to consider changing faction to reach TG2. If you make for example DE castle at level 8 with shrews you can reach TG2 most likely faster than wizard and using minimum AP in all battles. |

Just to reiterate what aikboon said, save until you can purchase a full set of arts that are up to date for your level before you rent/purchase a thief guild invite. I don't know about going the might route for ambushes like Jabbar said, but I was able to win over 80% of my caravans using full arts geared toward spell power and defense. At lvl 7 I had the wizard helmet, 2x prophet rings, steel cuirass, steel boots, staff of power, dragon shield, cape of spirits, and pendent of despair. At lvl 8, I switched to the wizard attire and cape of magical power. The problem is this is expensive and you are probably looking at over 100k initial investment to get these arts. Once you get them it'll be easier to maintain but you'll still need more money when you have to replace them once their durability runs out. |
Sword of Might, Defender Shield, Hauberk or Steel Cuirass ( note that steel cuirass is not really a lot more expensive than hauberk per durability point, and gives one more defense )
Actually, according to shebalis awesome calculations, the cost per battle for cuirass is barely 2g more than Hauberk, for that 2g you buy 1 extra defence point =)
So definately you should go for cuirass. |
312: It's not a might focus that i suggest, i just believe that using sword of might is far better option than using combat staff for ambushing. 1 spellpower will give you 8 more damage per arrow vs caravans ( no spell bonus there ) and a bit more if you hit multiple targets with spikes, however the 4 more attack you get from sword of might means your gargoyles golems and magi ( if you use through shot ) will do 20% more damage. I believe in many cases the gargoyle in corner alone will do more damage with retaliations and attacks compared to what you would get from 1 spellpower. And ofc the 3% initiative is gonna ensure your magi play first in a lot more situations.
Staff of Power is another story, the benefits are very big for a caster build but also the cost is rather steep, its 2.5 times more expensive than sword of might more or less per charge. |
314.
Yeah, I guess comparing the combat staff to the sword of might, its the better deal. Although I think if you are going to get the sword of might, might as well save up more money and just get the staff of power. I just noticed he doesn't have enchanted gargoyles, so I don't think the extra attack would benefit him that much since the regular gargs only have 1-1 damage instead of the 1-2 damage of the enchanted ones.
Now the staff of power you can lower your knowledge to up your spell power. I kind of liked having 5 knowledge points with intellect which gave me 75 mana. |
I am thinking of changing faction temporarily.
Will the mini-arts created earlier still be around when I change faction back to wizard again? |
As long as you don't sell them before changing faction, they'll be there when you go back to being a wizard. |
#316
yes, the mini-arts would be always there when you change back to wizard. Since you are only level 7 I suggest that you can change to knight to try TG 2. Knight was among the best faction in low level. full arts + escort you will reach TG 2 in one week. |
knight is very dependent on faction level , if you change now it wont be very easy thieving. Better switch to some faction that doesnt depend that much on faction level ( best choice is Dark Elf by far for this ). |
what is thebest way to hunt lorekeepers? i got a green for 55 of them but they do not come after my gargs for melee (not like other top hunters).. instead they use magic punch.. |
