| That's a question I've always had. Does Soldiers' Luck apply to critical hits on favored enemies? When it says special effects, I wouldn't think crits are included... but then why would it be on the talent wheel? No elven troops have any other possible special effects. |
no, it doesn't apply to critical hits. it says "special abilities of creatures", not "racial special abilities" ;}
critical hits on favored enemies is quite often triggered for elves with high fsp, additional triggering by this talent would mean imbalance. |

| can anyone give me tips on thief elf at level 7 without diamond upgrade? its so hard |
Thief is most effective with Elite Forest Keepers. If you don't have them, wear full arts and use Sprites as your main attackers. Also keep your Druids in one stack and split your Bows to use as bait. You will still not win most of them, but you will have a much better chance.
Once you hit level 8 they will become much easier. |

I usually use 32/30/15/8 and i divide like this
Sprites : 2 stacks of 16
FK : 1 stack of 30
Bwmn : 1 stack of 15
Druids : 2 stacks of 3 and 1 stack of 2 |
I don't remember what the max recruits were for level 7. Try using Rally, max out your sprites and second max your druids. Those will be your main attack force. Next get as many fks as you can, use those to take retal for your dru (or for a larger stack of fk if you have enough). Your smallest stack should be bowmen (I would imagine 6 or so of them). Those will be your bait, don't try to cover them.
To maximize your success get your luck from your arts instead of talents; this will be different at level 8, but at 7 you need the extra troops for ambushes. Also focus on arts with initiative, you will need as much init as you can get for your sprites.
Good luck :) And remember, Thief at 7 can be very very difficult. Don't be discouraged if you lose often; level 8 will be more fun :) |
| Ah, I forgot. Don't split your druids. You will be using them to shoot. The AI does not recognize them as shooters, so units like Rogues and Shrews will always return after hitting. Use Stoneskin only if there's an immediate threat; otherwise keep attacking. |
